About Royal Canin Dermatology For Cats

Worried About Your Cat’s Skin Health?

Skin health concerns are common and can appear anywhere on your cat’s body. Your veterinarian is the expert on your cat’s health, so you should always consult with this trusted advisor to find the best solutions for your pet. This specialized expertise is why Royal Canin works closely with veterinarians to develop formulas that support skin health.

Common Causes of Skin Health Concerns

Environmental Sensitivities

Pollen, plants and dust are environmental factors that can trigger an immune response in some cats.

Food Sensitivities

Your veterinarian may recommend a diet elimination trial to help determine if your pet has a sensitivity to certain proteins in his current diet.

Parasites

Your cat can pick up external parasites such as mites, fleas, ticks and lice from contaminated sources, both indoors and out.

Infection

Kittens, older cats, and cats that have recently been ill may be more susceptible to bacterial infections that can lead to skin health concerns.

How Can Nutrition Help?

Your veterinarian may recommend a Royal Canin Dermatology formula for your cat. These special formulations can:

Aid digestive health by regulating movement through the GI tract and supporting balanced digestive flora

Support the skin’s natural protective barrier

Aid cellular health with a complex blend of antioxidants.

Promote healthy skin and coat by providing long chain omega-3 fatty acids in the diet

Find The Perfect Balance

With a dry and wet feeding routine, dry food supports positive oral health while wet food supports healthy hydration.

helps with vomit but expensive

I’ve been getting this from my local vet. My car has severe skin allergies and GI stuff . Did some allergy testing and bought brands that don’t include the allergens (really difficult). Even then, my cat still would puke often and beg for food. Finally caved and splurged on this. She’s only vomited once since I started this brand a month ago. This stuff doesn’t satisfy her middle of the night cravings. She seems to drink more now eating this than other brand (too sodium in it??). She also seems more bloated than usual since starting this food. I agree with other reviews. Many studies show that carrageenan isn’t healthy or good for IBS/IBS. I avoid it and don’t want my cat to eat it either. For the price it’s be nice if this didn’t have preservatives or binding agents in it. Can you all just put organic mouse in a jar? Literally costing over $200/month to feed my cat. Not cool. I’m considering switching her food back to another brand.

Cat won't eat it.

My vet recommended the selected protein for cay to help him gain weight. We were hoping to buy just a few cans of the PD, PR, and PV that she prescribed. Unfortunately, I couldn't find some anywhere in the state, so I was forced to buy a case. I tried 2 cans and he only took a bite of the first can and walked away. I was hoping it was just him not feeling well at first so I tried a second can now that he is feeling alittle better. He wouldn't even take a bite. I'll have to find a home for the remaining cans.

Contains Carrageenan!- known to cause GI inflammation

My 18 year old active cat lost so much weight recently. he’s been refusing to eat different prescribed foods, and his IBD symptoms were bad. He’s had diarrhea issues for over 4 years and was originally prescribed Royal Canin rabbit until he was sick of it. Sabu (my cat) still is interested in food just sick of the pain. He refused this Duck version too. After researching cat food, I discovered Carrageenan. Studies shown it’s a carcinogen and can cause GI inflammation and lesions etc. In cats. EVEN if it was a small study or not officially approved blah blah, I still don’t want to make his situation worse. I got a refund from Chewy-thanks. I got Sabu to eat organic Turkey Baby food and other baby foods. His appetite came back (right now he’s getting Blue Wilderness morsels) and diarrhea is under control. There is other stuff we are doing for him but I don’t want to get into too much with this review. P.S. I think Royal Canin could make this without Carageenan it just wouldn’t be a pate. Most pate’s have it, human food too.

This wet cat food is extremely dry.

I am having a difficult time transitioning my cat from the rabbit base to the duck base because it is so dry. My cat loves the PR because it has sauce. My cat has IBD and my vet is changing her diet because of bad poops. :(

Finally, success!

My kitty with unknown food allergies has gone through a number of wet food trials, which either triggered a reaction or were so gross she refused to eat them (looking at you, hydrolyzed protein foods!). Finally, this one seems to be both well tolerated and VERY tasty! She now starts begging for it hours before dinnertime and licks her bowl CLEAN! I'm so thrilled to have found something that seems to work for her (knock on wood!). Happy kitty and happy human!

My Picky Cat Loves This

My cat stopped eating his dry food and the vet gave us some cans of Royal Canin. He loves it! Eats it regularly and it’s good for him.

why so expensive?

this is literally the only food my cat can eat without puking. They got rid of the venison version. Please bring it back. But this stuff is stupid expensive. I'm going broke.

Sadly, our cat doesn't like.

Sadly, our cat doesn't like. He'll eat the same formula dry, but not the wet.

Great food for my cat

This food is great. It's definately more expensive than the standard food, but my cat needs this for his allergies. He loves it. My cat is very finicky in what he likes, and I was very worried that he wouldn't like it. He LOVES it!

Great Taste

Tried many Rx food for allergies. This one apparently has the best taste and my little girl has had no flare ups since she started eating the wet food. Totally worth the price
