Skin health concerns are common and can appear anywhere on your dog’s body. Your veterinarian is the expert on your dog’s health, so you should always consult with this trusted advisor to find the best solutions for your pet. This specialized expertise is why Royal Canin works closely with veterinarians to develop formulas that support skin health.
Environmental Sensitivities
Pollen, plants and dust are environmental factors that can trigger an immune response in some dogs.
Food Sensitivities
Your veterinarian may recommend a diet elimination trial to help determine if your pet has a sensitivity to certain proteins in his current diet.
Parasites
Your dog can pick up external parasites such as mites, fleas, ticks and lice from contaminated sources, both indoors and out
Infection
Puppies, older dogs, and dogs that have recently been ill may be more susceptible to bacterial infections that can lead to skin health concerns.
Your veterinarian may recommend a Royal Canin Dermatology formula for your dog. These special formulations can:
Aid digestive health by regulating movement through the GI tract and supporting balanced digestive flora
Support the skin’s natural protective barrier
Aid cellular health with a complex blend of antioxidants.
Promote healthy skin and coat by providing long chain omega-3 fatty acids in the diet
With a dry and wet feeding routine, dry food supports positive oral health while wet food supports healthy hydration.
Keep your pet's feeding on schedule. Set your order for Autoship to make sure you always have their veterinarian-recommended nutrition on hand.
What sets Royal Canin apart is their close collaboration with veterinarians. Through these professional partnerships, they strive to learn everything they can about pet health, including how different formulas perform for different breeds, sizes, lifestyles and therapeutic conditions. Ongoing research and development allows Royal Canin to keep providing the precise nutrition dogs need for a range of medical conditions.

While the vet recommended Ultamino, it has not resolved our dog's allergy issues. Feels a bit "big pharma" to me (VCA, drug, and dog food corps co-owned). However. I will say, George's digestive processes seem much healthier as a result of eating hydrolyzed food, vs Purina or other brands (high end). He's only 2, so I doubt we can sustain this diet for a lifetime. I'm glad we tried it. All I can say is that it seems healthier than other brands. After reading "Big Kibble" I am NOT convinced any kibble is good for any dog.
I've had my lab in Ultramino for several months and it has worked great for her food sensitivity, however one bag in my last delivery had huge clumps of kibble stuck together as others have stated. I contacted Chewy and they are sending a replacement. I have to think this is a storage issue as I've never noticed this before and only recently been purchasing at Chewy.
Though this helped my dog's hotspots, it also caused other unforeseen issues. I am shocked and dismayed that Royal Canin charges an exorbitant amount for dog food that according to Royal Canin is MADE WITH GMO CORN as the MAIN INGREDIENT. I do not want to cause my dog additional problems or a shorter lifespan because this company wishes to use cheap ingredients that are KNOWN to be harmful to both humans and animals. At this price point, it should be organic or at least verified non-GMO. This is incredibly disturbing. Not wanting to give this to my dog anymore. He's also drinking excessive amounts of water and needing to go out every 2-4 hours since being on this food. GMO's should not be allowed in food at all. Will look for a safer alternative.
As others have recently noted, the recent bag of kibble has clumps. I also found a kibble that was totally flat with a dark spot in the middle. I’ve contacted Royal Canin directly with my concerns. I’ve heard that they hold and test so I’m surprised that these quality issues made it through. Our lab has been eating this for almost 2 years with no trouble.
Best customer service around. However, get s new delivery service. On my travels around this huge condo estate to find my packages, I found two others at the wrong doors and put them where they belong. It was hot, I have heart issues, and I am old. But the outstanding people I talk to even in the middle of the night almost made up for it.
My dog was suffering from severe allergies. Veterinarian prescribed food together with other proper care for allergies for dogs and so far so good. Seems like a very clean food for dogs.
My senior dog has suffered from skin rashes and ear infections for years now, finally with this she is back to healthy! And I didnt have to trick her into eating it either, she really likes it.
Food was clumping together like others have stated. I thought it was from the bag package arriving in the rain. We pay way too much for this to happen. Vet wants to try him on Purina ha protein prescription.
Never had any problems with this kibble but my last order the kibble was all stuck together I had to break it all apart and even then they’re still that are stuck together making it hard for my dog to chewy. Hopefully my next order is better.
The rating is more for chewy than the product. Noticed large clumps of the food in the bag and it really didn't feel right. Wanted to get replacement but Chewy requires food to be sent back before they will replace it. Now my dog has to go hungry while I wait for 2 way shipping.
