  • Works for my kitty’s tummy issues

    By on

My cat has been struggling with vomiting and diarrhea for months. All tests have come back negative and we don’t think he’s allergic to any specific foods. We tried the science diet ones and he would refuse to eat it. We tried forti flora, (metronidazole) meds and a whole list of stuff. He’s a very difficult cat to feed/medicate as he’s extremely picky with his food. Fortunately he’ll eat this food along with the dried version. I typically mix this up with a little more added water (he loves to lick the juices) and he’ll eat it up. So far his tummy issues have gotten much better with this strict diet and we were able to stop any medication.

  • A Tummy Calmer

    By on

Our 15 year old male cat was starting to vomit his food every few days. We took him to the vet but all his tests came back normal. The vet recommended the dry version of this food but he still got sick. That's when we switched to the canned food. He tolerates it very well, and still eats a small amount of dry food too. Although the cans are small, one can lasts up to 2 days. He has been better for the last few weeks and we hope it continues.

  • Saved kitty's life

    By on

This food is amazing. We adopted a kitten which had constant diarheea no matter what she ate for 2 weeks. Then wouldn't eat at all.and it got to the point where it was leaking out uncontrollably. The Vet put her on medication and this brand of food. After only 3 days nice soft firm stool and she loves the taste as well. No more medication and still on this food and everything is good.

  • My kitty loves this food!

    By on

It was recommended that I start my youngest kitty on this food as she seems to have issues digesting other foods; she loves it and has no trouble at all with this. She doesn't seem bothered to be eating the same food every day either and I'm glad as this is the only flavor for GI diet.

  • Before you purchase a case...

    By on

Chewy.com is wonderful but my cats apparently are finicky and turned their noses up at this food and refuse to eat it. They usually eat the Royal Canine loaf for sensitive digestion but they do not like this one. Just make sure your cats like it before you purchase a case.

This is a prescription food. [Just put it in your order. Chewy will ask for your vet's contact information, get the approval they need and ship your order without a hitch.] We normally get the dry version of this food as I am not a big fan of feeding wet food. However, our most senior cat was not eating well so we ordered the canned. Once she got the canned, she realized she was hungry! We started her on small portions as her tummy was in a bad state for not eating well for a while. She kept the food down so we began increasing the portion as her stomach stretched a bit. In just three weeks, she has regained 1/2lb of the 1.25lbs she had lost. The cat is happy, we're happy and the vet is This is a prescription food. [Just put it in your order. This food is easily digested; comes as small-ish bits in some gravy. I mashed it up for our senior feline. The younger-senior in our home eats it as it comes out of can. … more

  • Great choice for older cats

    By on

I have two older cats with digestive issues. My veterinarian suggested Royal Canin brand. So far I have tried their hard food and soft food. It has helped their digestive issues tremendously. I mix some of their old food with Royal Canin and they love it.

  • Cats love this & WAY cheaper than Vet. charges!

    By on

I had no idea I could purchase this Veterinarian prescribed food from anywhere other than the Vet. himself; am SO glad that Chewy sells this AND for much cheaper than when buying from the Vet. Save myself a trip to the Vet. AND $$$! My cat suffers with a very sensitive tummy so this food (wet & dry) was prescribed. I had assumed this would have a somewhat bland taste and might not appeal to my cat. Well, he LOVES it, gobbles every bit of it as soon as it is in his bowl. I add water to it, as is a bit thick in consistency and am trying to get more water into my cat, as he also suffers from constipation. My other cat loves it, too, and the Vet. said it is fine for both cats to eat.
