Listen, I don’t rate my purchases. We are allergic to Timothy hay in my house, but buy it for our littles. We opened this box and the most delightful aroma filled the house. Definitely the freshest hay I’ve received in ages, for the best value. My rabbit and guinea pig are delighted.

This is a huge box of 40 lb hay, and it's gorgeous! My buns really liked it too. The pieces of hay are long and very fresh. I feed this to my house bunnies, but

This is a huge box of 40 lb hay, and it's gorgeous! My buns really liked it too. The pieces of hay are long and very fresh. I feed this to my house bunnies, but it could also be used for chinchillas or guinea pigs etc. The 40 lb box is the cheapest way to purchase it and it will last a long time for us and we feed unlimited In different boxes and their litter boxes. As soon as I put it down my buns ran towards it and started eating it. I chose 1st cut because it has a lot of fiber, and one of my buns is prone to digestive issues. It's good for their teeth as well and it's a little stiffer than the other cuts. This hay was perfect, the pieces were big and not dusty at all. The shipping was really quick and it's made in the USA! It's 100%Timothy without anything else added.

Plus and minus quality

My first box of hay was great, my rabbit ate alot more of it over the other brands. But the next order of a 20lb box and I found bright blue bailing twine mixed

My first box of hay was great, my rabbit ate alot more of it over the other brands. But the next order of a 20lb box and I found bright blue bailing twine mixed in right on top. I understand that bailing twine is used to keep it together in transport but when I'm paying $50 a box for "hand selected " "hand packed" hay and find bright blue twine shreds right on top I was pretty frustrated. Looking for a diffrent brand after that.

Small Pet Select Timothy Hay First Cut is excellent—my rabbits really loved it! The box is very big, making it perfect for multiple rabbits, and the hay itself feels high-quality. The texture is great, and unlike some hays that have no smell, this one has a fresh Timothy hay scent right out of the box. My rabbits thoroughly enjoyed it, and I placed it all over their feeders and activity boxes in the house. They dove right in and were happily munching away. Healthy Poops!

I thought I ordered 2nd cut, as that’s what I usually order, but this time I chose 1st cut and the buns are loving it and their poops are the healthiest I’ve seen

Packaging Issue.

I do want to say that Small Pet Selects products are amazing products. However the hay is shipped in a box with no protective inside or outside from the elements

I do want to say that Small Pet Selects products are amazing products. However the hay is shipped in a box with no protective inside or outside from the elements. The hay was left on the door step in the rain a lot of the Hay inside the box got wet. We really need a packaging alternative. Even though there are instructions on where to place the packages they are not often read and executed accordingly.

Long crunchy 1st cut

Very green and good quality hay. Lots of furry tips which my pigs love to eat, but they are very long hay, I have to use my own house garden scissors to cut them

Very green and good quality hay. Lots of furry tips which my pigs love to eat, but they are very long hay, I have to use my own house garden scissors to cut them to fit in the feeder which create a lot of mess to clean up afterwards. They are definitely hard to chew and a lot of them wasted in the bottom of cage so I mix them with Orchid hay so my pigs would finish more. I need the first cut hay cuz my pigs are on the overweight side, need them to chew some hard hay to use more of their energies lol. Overall very good quality will buy other type of hay from this brand again. Other thing to note is like other ppl mentioned, there’s no plastic wrap of the hays, once you open the box it’s the hay directly, so open gently to avoid getting messy

Never seen my rabbits so excited to eat hay lol

The hay is a little pricey compared to what I normally get but the quality and lack of wasted hay definitely makes up for it. My rabbits love it which is a miracle

Delivery was delayed but product was good

Had issues with delivery and had to get a reorder when it didn't arrive on time. However, the packing was sealed and the hay was fresh. Would have been 4 stars
