How do I open this without ripping it up?

It is recommended to unfold this grass slowly to avoid rips. Gently rub the paper together at the edges to start opening the layers.

This is by far the dumbest, flimsiest thing I've ever wasted money on for a pet. That's my fault for not reading/looking more closely. I cannot believe it has as good reviews as it does. Each "toy" is just a flimsy piece of tissue paper that you unfold (sort of?) and drop treats into (on the floor, because there's no actual bottom). It started tearing apart immediately, and it will be a disaster if it comes into contact with any moisture. Please don't waste your money.

1. It’s literally made out of tissue paper. For cats. 2. It ripped apart with me just trying to open it to spread it out. Got so frustrated that I left it on the table because I wasn’t prepared to admit defeat and just throw it away. 3. Next day, cats had ripped it to shreds and thus straight to the trash it went. For some reason I thought it was like a soft plastic-y grass mat I could hide treats in. Nope. Just literal tissue paper for them to shred.

Looking at the pictures I thought it was made of felt not tissue paper... And on top of that it won't even stay expanded and pulls back into one flat piece before falling over....

Cat loves It, but not the most practical

It's hard to open it up to its full extended form without ripping the paper, etc. so that part is a bit annoying, but it's cheap enough and my cat loves it... so

Ridiculously good

Like many reviews, I bought this for my cat and it is basically fragile tissue paper that arrives flat and you have to open or pull apart to turn it into 3D “grass”

Like many reviews, I bought this for my cat and it is basically fragile tissue paper that arrives flat and you have to open or pull apart to turn it into 3D “grass”. I was underwhelmed. But my cat loved it. It was pretty destroyed within a few hours. But I keep gathering it up, fluffing it up, and putting it on his cat bed and it’s his favorite place to hang out. 10/10 will buy again.

so this is hands down THEE best toy, to them, ever. i read so many other reviews. the price went up a little, i decided to buy only one to see it’s halfway destroyed

so this is hands down THEE best toy, to them, ever. i read so many other reviews. the price went up a little, i decided to buy only one to see it’s halfway destroyed and they can’t leave it alone i hardly got it opened up at all before my 9yr old moved to lay on top of it, and the second i managed to pull one of the sheets all the way open (they’re pleasantly larger than expected) my 3 month old kitten literally jumped in. she is still destroying the paper grass as i type this it’s obnoxiously the cutest thing in the world, and despite the short life (this is absolutely trash in under 24 hours), watching the insane joy of your feline friends with this paper grass is WORTH EVERY CENT.

Should have paid attention to other reviews

This thing is terrible - it's not just made of paper, it's like the lightest of tissue which tears when you breathe on it. I was super careful trying to spread it

This thing is terrible - it's not just made of paper, it's like the lightest of tissue which tears when you breathe on it. I was super careful trying to spread it all out, and I'm pretty dextrous, but it was a sad mess, and also even though I'd managed to separate quite a bit of the grass intact, it kept folding back onto itself. Total waste, and I have a crick in my neck.

My cat Arlo is very particular re which toys he likes and he is bored quickly. This toy has been his favorite by far for months and he plays with it daily. Yes, it is made of tissue paper so it takes a few minutes to unroll it but it crinkles and makes noise when he pounces on toys hiding in his “grass”. As it is paper it rips when he attacks it but not a problem. I gather up the grass into a pile and hide toys in it. Best toys ever!
