Are all ingredients in this product sourced in th United States?
Answer by ChewyFeb 05, 2022
Sojos ingredients are primarily sourced from North America. Wellness Pet Company has one of the most strict sourcing criteria of any pet food manufacturer. All ingredient suppliers, whether domestic or international, need to meet certified nutrient levels and be manufactured in quality audited facilities. While there are many high quality ingredients available in the U.S., in some cases there is not a readily available U.S. supply. For example, the Venison, Lamb, Rabbit and Salmon Meal are sourced internationally from New Zealand, Australia, Italy and Chile respectively. Sojos feels that they have the appropriate quality programs in place at all their vendor locations and feel safe and secure with all the ingredients they source, whether they are sourced locally or globally.

Must be delicious!

My very active 25 lb. Frenchton was a picky eater from the time he was a pup. We do a lot of hiking and outdoor activities, and traveling in our Motorhome became challenging. We often ran out of ideas to entice him to eat. Then we discovered Sojos and he hasn’t missed a meal since. In fact now he reminds me if it’s a few minutes past his mealtime. The best part is that it’s not much more expensive than the other “high quality” foods we had been feeding him. I mix up 2-3 days worth of food in individual Tupperware containers and keep them in the fridge. That way there’s always a meal ready and he doesn’t get frustrated waiting the 15 minutes for it to rehydrate, lol. I rotate between the Turkey and the Beef, and one 7 lb bag lasts about a month if I feed it exclusively. However, if I add 1/4 cup of dry kibble to it for each meal I can stretch it out for 6 weeks or more. It also slows him down while eating and helps keep his teeth cleaner.

Convenient and healthy

I have feed my dog this food for a year. She has a glossy coat and it keeps her weight in a good range. Plus she likes it. Also has had no allergies.

Great food but expensive

Both the Sojos raw freeze dried turkey and chicken has been a lifesaver feeding my 2 9 year old dachshunds with chronic pancreatitis. They are healthy and full of life. However, this food is becoming quite expensive. Prices go up much more and I will be forced to seek alternatives.

No toppers needed!

Our fussy vizsla gobbles this food right down! We used to go through great pain to mix in all kinds of things to enhance his food so he'd eat it. Not necessary with Sojo!! Plus he has allergies, no worries with the Sojo turkey, it's so clean, we don't have to worry. With it's on our doorstep. Problems solved, thanks Chewy!

Want our fur baby to love it

We decided to give our 18 mo old lab a better diet. She is lean and healthy, & very athletic. Not into food like many labs are. She obsesses over a ball more than food. When I brought the new bag of Sojos Complete, she immediately gravitated to it, sniffing the bag. My first attempt to weaning her off her kibble and introduce 25% of Sojos, she whimpered as it sat on the counter absorbing the water. Well, I put 1:1.5 Sojos to water ratio. That was way too much water, even after waiting 30 minutes. Still soupy, I mixed 1/2 of it in with her kibble. She loved it! In fact, she liked it so much that I gave her the rest of the soupy Sojos. She's on 100% Sojos, after about 10 days. She's not as excited about it anymore. Morning feedings are half eaten, then later in the morning she grazes and finishes it. In the evening, she's hesitant, but eventually finishes her meal. We will continue to give her Sojos Complete because I know it's better for her than her kibble.

Great healthy product, recommend your furry friends to try it! May give your dogs a little gas the first couple times they eat it :) Smells delicious to the human nose as well!

Not a favorite, but edible enough.

My Italian Greyhound isn't very picky, but she is not really crazy about the beef recipe. The excessive amount of cranberries and the smell turns her off. If I wait til she's really hungry, she WILL eat most of it. She does pick the cranberries out of the bowl, though.
