Can this be used without wifi?

Answer by ChewyAug 21, 2022
This Hub requires an internet router with a spare Ethernet port. So you can plug your Hub into your router and obtain a reliable internet connection.

How far can Surefeed microchip pet feeder connect, be away from the hub? My internet router is upstairs in the bed room and the feeders are down stairs in the kitchen.

Answer by ChewyApr 16, 2020
It is recommended to locate the Hub within 10 meters of the pet door or feeder. This range could be larger or smaller depending on interference. Make sure the Hub isn’t positioned next to any large metal objects. Thick walls and a large distance between the Hub and the pet door can affect performance.

Does this hub have to be connected through ethernet cable, or can it be connected through wifi instead?

Answer by ChewyFeb 17, 2025
This pet door hub requires it to be plugged into your WiFi router using an ethernet cable (included).

Which feeders does this hub connect with?

Answer by ChewyOct 07, 2024
This hub links your Sure Petcare "Connect" products and the Sure Petcare App. 1 Hub connects up to 10 devices in the home and easily plugs into your home's WiFi router. This hub is required for Felaqua Connect, SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect, SureFlap Microchip Pet Door Connect, and SureFlap Microchip Cat Door Connect.

Easy setup. (Can be used on a correctly configured Vlan for IoT also.)

Great, but expensive & needs even more features!

First off - 4 months ago, I didn't get it.. now that I have this and the SureFeed Connect cat food feeder, I don't understand how are there not more microchip activated or reporting cat electronics out there?! We have 6 cats - including 2 boys with bladder issues, and one with IBS meds who needs to be fattened up. We have a LitterRobot 3 - which reports usage, but not by cat )and one normal litter box). We now have a wifi camera monitoring each litter box, so we can see if the boys are sitting in there often/for a long time. I wake up, and grab IBS girl, give her meds, and put her in a bathroom with soft food, and then corral the boys and feed them their food.. and repeat that in the evening. Their food is EXPENSIVE, so I don't need the girls eating it, and don't want to keep them seperate all the time. That's why I was suggested I buy one (or more) SureFeeder for them.. I opted for the Connect which requires this hub for this and their per doors, so I can monitor who is eating (especially while we are still in training), and it will alert me when empty (drawback- it doesn't hold much food). I am thinking of getting a pet door for the other kitty instead, or for the Litter Robot closet as not even thr LitterRobot 4 reads microchips - it monitors udage by weight?!

I love the thought of it, The Dread Pirate enjoys his freedom but there's a big problem. I'm using the curfew feature and it worked one night and the next night the flap was unlocked. I tried everything. When I changed the batteries it worked. It doesn't seem normal for batteries to last only 2 days. I'm going to say I'd recommend the product with the hopes that this issue can be remediated.

Doesn't work

Difficult to set up... doesn't connect well. Can't have pet fed more than 10 feet from modem. Wouldn't set up each pet properly. No customer service

The stats are a little weird and crazy right now bc my kitties are in training but ultimately I'm happy I decided to go with the upgraded door connect model. The hub was easy to set up and it is currently 18ft from the door with no issues. As I said in my review for the door, I recommend using the collar tags versus the neck chips, the door doesn't read the microchips as well, it will still unlock when it senses the recognized microchip but it may not read the cat's information so the app will say animal instead of it's name. Sync the tag with the door before you put it on your cat if they already have a microchip so you know which thing it's synced to. Personal experience, trying to save you time. I love the app and I love the cute little hub. You get a notification on your phone when a cat enters or exits the door but the ears also blink which is fun! If you don't like the lights you can dim them or turn them off entirely. My favorite feature and the main reason I bought this was the ability to lock and unlock from my phone. Well worth it, as someone else wrote, peace of mind. The cats are in training right now so when they finally get adjusted to the door I will use the curfew settings. The whole setup was expensive but I have no regrets and I believe you are getting everything you paid for! 100% recommend! I wish I bought the connect feeders now, I just have the standard ones.

So glad we got the hub along with our SureFlap door. It was easy to connect to the App and we get notifications of when the cats are out and about. We love being able to set a curfew time to open in the morning and lock at night. There is peace of mind knowing that if you are not home in the evening that they can still enter the house after curfew but not get back out until the morning unlock time. The ability to override the curfew time from the App is also a fantastic feature if you want to keep your cat inside.
