I tried this one time to see if my 2 Guinea pigs, both 3 years old, might like it better since it was on sale This does not smell or look like timothy hay. It looks like paper easter grass. It was horrible, they would not touch it and would not eat it. They both smelled it and walked away. I tried for a week and they avoided it the whole time. The boys did still have their usual pellets and veggies so no one went hungry. I finally gave up and dumped it all in the yard. I live in a rural area with lots of deer and other wildlife. None of the animals would eat it. Finally, it just decayed. The second I gave my piggies their usual hay, Oxbow brand, they started eating quickly. As soon as my husband opened the box he noticed It was brown and yellow and looked such an awful quality. The more we dug around, we realized we wasted our money. I understand that this is a small family farm, and I respect that. I honestly felt bad feeding it to my guineas, but they eat it. Will not buy again.
horrible quality and color

This is the second delivery I’ve received and the hay was very brown and yellow and very little green pieces. My piggies are uninterested and there was no smell to the hay as if it was old. I will not be trying it for a third time, just a waste of money. Very sad and disappointed.

Purchased this and I didn't use it right away when I opened it it smelt horrible and my guineas won't eat it. I leave hay out in the open for my goats and it doesn't smell so I thought it being in package it would be the same way but I guess I was wrong. I won't be buying this again as it's a waist of money.
My piggies love it!

This hay seems a little more stringy than other brands but my guinea pigs devoure it. They literally eat it all. There is none on the floor in the cage. Whereas other brands like Oxbow, my pigs only eat about 50% of it and the rest ends up on the cage floor.
Bunny won't eat it

I got 2 boxes of this hay and both boxes the hay was mostly brown. My holland lop won't touch it. I messaged chewy and told them my 1st box was brown and inedible, and they sent me a 2nd box. This pic is the 2nd box right after opening. Going back to buying the Oxbow hay

Bought this product in the 3 pound bag 3 times. First two times it was great. Third time was definitely not the charm. Third bag was brown, not sweet smelling at all and full of flowers, twigs, leaves, moss and other random bits of garbage. Won't be buying this again. This was the 2nd cut.

I will not be buying this brand of hay again. Despite some negative reviews, I decided to take a chance because I usually have a better experience with products than others, however, this one proved to be true. The box of hay I received is dry and brown. My bun will not eat it. So disappointing because I do not have anymore other hay on hand and will have to run out and buy more from a store to sustain until my new shipment from Chewy comes in.

We've been buying hay from sweet meadow for almost 10 years. We used to buy directly online from them or drive an hour to get it. Now it's on chewy and even easier to order. Our bunnies love it! There is variety from box to box but our bunnies love it all.
Not liking it

My guinea pigs are surprisingly putting their noses up to most of this hay. They love the Timothy pellets from here but the hay, not so much. I won’t be buying again for sure. They will pick out the bits they like in this 9 lb box I guess… it’s off to the local pet store to get some more so they eat enough …
