When changing to Taste of the Wild, we recommend making a gradual transition over 7 - 10 days to help avoid possible digestive upset in sensitive pets. Add a small amount of new food to your cat’s previous diet, gradually increasing the new and decreasing the previous diet until the transition is complete.

The Diet Nature Intended
They might not be cheetahs or lions, but today's domestic cats share the same ancestral cravings. To satisfy these instinctual appetites, Taste of the Wild wet and dry formulas are made with real, roasted meat plus fruits, vegetables and legumes that are chosen for their specific health benefits.
Energy That Lasts
Taste of the Wild is made with premium fish and meats like smoked salmon, trout, ocean fish, roasted venison and chicken. Every formula is grain-free and provides lasting energy with complex carbs from sweet potatoes and legumes. These highly digestible proteins and fiber-rich carbohydrates will keep your pet feeling full and energized throughout the day.

Immune System Support
Since 70% of your pet's immune system is found in the gut, it makes sense to choose a food that's good for the digestive tract. Taste of the Wild includes prebiotics and species-specific probiotics with bacteria that's naturally found in a cat's GI tract. The proprietary Viables probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your cat gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.
Maximizing Nutrient Absorption
To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your kitty will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.

Perfectly Balanced Omegas
Taste of the Wild gives your little wildcat just the right dose of omega fatty acids in every bite. Marine-sourced omega-3 comes from smoked salmon or ocean fish, or a combination of these ingredients. Omega-6 from plant sources balance out the omega-3s, and they work together to help maintain your pet's skin and coat health and to support overall wellness.
Ingredients for Better Health
The powerful superfood trio of blueberries, raspberries and tomatoes can be found in every delicious recipe, along with their immune-boosting properties.
TOMATOES and TOMATO POMACE: Help support overall health by providing vitamin C, soluble fiber and rich in concentrated lycopene, a premier antioxidant.
BLUEBERRIES: Antioxidant-rich superfood that's full of flavor and loaded with vitamins C and E, healthy carbs, dietary fiber and manganese.
RASPBERRIES: Delicious berries packed with potassium, manganese, copper, iron and magnesium, and they also provide fiber and antioxidants.

Cats won't eat this food
By Brianna on Jan 10, 2021
I have a special needs cat that also has a grain allergy, and I've been feeding him and my other cat Rachael Ray's grain free weight control food for years. It's been nearly impossible to find in stock all of a sudden and seems to have been discontinued, so I bought this food with high hopes since it actually seemed like an upgrade for them. They absolutely hate this food. I mixed it with their old food to transition them over, and they would pick out their old food and ignore this. When I put it in their bowls, they take a look at it and then look back at me and head to the cabinet where the food is stored like they're asking for me to give them something else instead. Both of my cats are very food motivated normally, so to completely snub a food isn't typical for them. I'm bummed since grain-free options are much more limited, and I was hoping this one would be a good replacement for the Rachael Ray recipe, but neither cat will touch this. … more

Picky cats said NOPE
By Crew on Dec 8, 2020
In a quest to get my crew eating better, I switched over to grain free food. I was previously feeding Purina Beyond grain free and everyone (6 cats) loved it. However it is very hard to find in store and Chewy raised the price by $10 for a smaller bag then this one. Since I have a large crew to feed, I tried this brand which gives a few more pounds for the price. Not the fault of the food, but my cats all turned their noses up at it and we're picking out the bits of the other food and avoiding this one. Guess my food bill will have to go up!

Nico is still deciding whether this is the food
By doc1951 on Dec 5, 2020
My cat, Nico is a fussy eater and I have to mix his food with my other cat's food to trick him into eating this new food, but when he's hungry he'll take a few nibbles and I hope he will like it eventually. Cats are not like dogs - one has to patient with the little stinkers! At least he's trying to eat it, but not with gusto!

Loved by old and new
By bluejay1389 on Dec 8, 2020
We have an outside cat who this was intended for she loves it but instead of bringing her in we got a kitten and she gets this food the most and she loves it, just orded this brand of wet food but in the other flavor of salmon and venison. Our cats and dog are on Taste of the Wild. Worth the price.

Cat obsessed
By BeckerTogether on Nov 28, 2020
I have been ordering this food for over a year and my cats go crazy for the stuff. They love it when the food arrives so much that one of my little hooligans tries to bite open the bag in excitement. If I don't immediately put the food away, there are always bite and claw holes in the bag. This food is reasonable priced in comparison of other foods similar and I don't see us changing brands any time soon.

Good stuff!
By Good on Oct 29, 2020
One of my cats gets an upset tummy from chicken, so I had to find a cat food that didn't have any chicken in it. (Which is a heck of a lot harder to do than it should be, btw.) It also had to be good for all ages, from kitten to adult, because my Ghostie cat is a jerk who steals the kittens' food all the time. AND it couldn't be so expensive that I had to take out a second mortgage. I searched and I researched and then I found it: Taste of the Wild Canyon River. Full of fishy goodness, free of chicken, at a reasonable price point. But then, the question all cat lovers dread: Will my cats actually eat it? They did! They weren't too sure the first day (except Pooka, but he's a small furry garbage disposal who steals chickpeas right out of the can, so you can't really judge by his taste), but by the second day they were all happily nomming down their new nom noms. Now they lick their bowls clean every morning and every evening! And, most important of all, Ghostie no longer has the world's grossest case of diarrhea! 10/10 will buy again! … more

My cats said No!
By Maspaws on Dec 4, 2020
Have 3 cats and no one will eat this. Even the dog who tries to steal cat food has ignored. Having to go to grocery store after 3 days of not eating and buy something they will eat. I guess I will donate bag to a rescue see if they can use. Lesson learned!

This company wants your business! and works to keep it!
By Randell on Nov 8, 2020
I had a small issue with my last order. One item was left out of the shipment and Karen in customer service chat took care of it in less than 5 minutes! That is why I do business with Chewy AND I'm a stock holder! My adopted ferral cats love this food and have had the brand since I adopted them!! Taste of the Wild is my brand, and Chewy is my provider! The end!

My Stormie devours this one
By Jewels5145 on Oct 18, 2020
I adopted my kitten from PetPal Warehouse and the clerk said this was a good food to feed him. I’ve purchased 2 bags of this flavor and he has tripled in size went from 2.1 lbs to 13 lbs in 3 months and has the shiniest softest fur ever. I truly recommend this brand. As a sidebar I also purchased The prey flavor angus beef but I think he likes this one better so I’m going to go back and order this one.
