When changing to Taste of the Wild, we recommend making a gradual transition over 7 - 10 days to help avoid possible digestive upset in sensitive pets. Add a small amount of new food to your dog’s previous diet, gradually increasing the new and decreasing the previous diet until the transition is complete.
I researched so many reviews and sites where this is sold. It's definitely good quality etc.... My darn pup is so picky that he just wouldn't eat it. Since I bought this food, I've learned more about him as he is getting beyond puppy age.. he decides sometimes he doesn't like roast chicken, and other foods most dogs would knock you down to get at, so it's my dog and not this foods fault. This is a good price on Chewy... But I bought so much and am trying to use it up by making biscuits out of it at this point. Had to cancel the auto ship... For any other picky pup owners, I've found that my pup has worked me over to the point that I've bought the stella and chewy brand and he like that one...
Our vet had us switching food due to some blood testing results and gave us a different high end food to get us started and we choose to go with Taste of Wild as a more permanent replacement. Our pup devoured the vet provided food to the point we had to get a slow feeder. With Taste of the Wild food sits in her bowl almost all day. Each fog has their own taste though, ours just doesn't like it.
This family owned company makes excellent dog and puppy food! My husband and I have done tons of research on puppy food and this one was at the top of our list. Our puppy eats it up quickly.
My sheepadoodle has been eating this puppy food for about 6 weeks. She loves mealtime! Gets super excited when she sees me getting her bowl ready. Zero digestive or skin problems.
I tried this 2xs and my 9 month puppy threw up and he had diarrhea very bad. I'm requesting a refund. I'm shocked for he had the salmon flavor with no problems
Our pups are so excited at mealtimes, it is hard to get them to sit and wait. Happy wagging tails and they love sniffing the bag it comes in.
Love this food!! I could tell the difference after I started feeding my puppy this food!!
I tried this with my english shepherd pup -- I think I've learned from this that his breed does better with grain because his poops were rank. Like hold-your-breath when he pops a squat bad. We could smell it thru the doggy bags on walks. In the yard try not to stand downwind. I mean, the food is very high quality and Eugene grew a beautiful shiny coat. We're in touch with some of his siblings and he'd outgrown them by a margin of ~8lbs - and definitely not with fat. We're now transitioning him to Wellness puppy food with grain and the poops were immediately more tolerable. From what I've read, grain free is OK for breeds with heritage outside agrarian cultures (think husky). I'll keep my farm dog on grain from here on out.
We purchased this product after having our pup on another dog food that we thought was a quality product. She was experiencing hair loss and very loose stools with the other product. After switching to Taste of the Wild, her hair stopped falling out, looks beautiful, and her stool is normal and healthy. And she LOVES it! Definitely a win!!
My shiba puppy did not have good reactions with it after trying many times. She contestant has smelly farts and vomits sometimes. Not sure what is it. Cannot say it is the kibbles fault but it did not work well with my dog
