Can this be mixed into soft canned food? Also is it daily or once or twice a week the directions are a little confusing and states both.
Answer by ChewyOct 09, 2017
It's recommended that this product is applied to the nose or paws. For two to three days in a row, you'll want to give 0.5 to 1 teaspoon. Once this product is built up in your cat, you'll give 0.25 to 0.5 teaspoon, two to three times a week.

can this be used for constipation?

PLEASE bring back the beeswax chicken tomlyn!! This stuff sucks!

The flavor/texture/beeswax-based tomlyn I normally use has been out of stock for way too long, and the only other non -petroleum hairball "gel" is also out of stock. In light of that, I decided to try this tuna-flavored, true "gel", petroleum ... product. Not only did my regular balkers hate it, but the ones who love the regular stuff hated it too. I hate it. And it stains. I have to apply it to paws, and usually this works with the ones who won't lick it up. Not with this stuff. They looked at it and stared at me as if I had assaulted them, then proceeded to either wipe it off on furniture and carpet, or immediately went to a litter box and covered it in litter so I would clean it off. Yes, my dear kitties are very conniving at times. I do not recommend this one. Please bring back the beeswax chicken flavored tomlyn.

Gel works, buy it!

This brand of laxatone gel works, but don’t waste your money on the chews. Kitty puked up his furr ball within three days of use. Smush the gel into the fur of their front paw so they have no choice but to lick it off, otherwise they won’t willingly eat it. Sorry kitty, it’s a necessary evil! They will thank you in the long run.

worked for my cat!

My car starting leaving hairball presents on my bed and decided to try this. he wasn’t a super fan of the taste so I just put his favorite squeezy treat over it until he licked it all up on the spoon. about a month later haven’t had one unwelcome surprise on my sheets since i started him on it and he will now lick the spoon clean without the incentive of a squeezy treat. if your cat turns their nose up at it try to be creative and they might well come around to it. I definitely think the effectiveness of this product is worth it.

Hairball management

My cat is one of those difficult ones that does not allow combing him to remove excess hair when shedding, therefore often threw up hairballs. He is a picky eater and would not take regular Laxatone. He loves the Tuna Flavored Laxatone and since using it regularly he no longer throws up!

Not a winner for the one that needs

One cat seems to be ok with it, of course the one that doesn't necessarily need it. The one that needs it, well he doesn't like it, he tries to flip it off his paw while running away giving me dirty looks. Argh. 2stars for half helpful. Apparently we have a very very picky one.

my cat almost likes this

Dealing with hairball vomit daily is annoying for me and uncomfortable for the cat. I put a good size dab on her paw and though she isn't a big fan, she licks it clean and no more vomiting!

My cat doesn’t fancy this in the least

Angelica won’t touch it. I thought the tuna flavor would be a big hit. Maybe it’s the petroleum that turns her nose! Will find an alternative.

Hairballs galore

It's shedding season and this is SO HELPFUL. Our guy was having hairballs daily. This helped right away! He doesn't like the taste, but it devolves very easily in a little hot water with food. Will be buying again!

Cats don't like it

I tried this product with all 4 of my cats. All of them turned their noses up at it. They refused to even try it. I tried mixing it with wet food and they walked away. It seems sticky to me. I'll be searching for another product to try.

This didn't work

I've tried several hairball control products. I did find one that he couldn't wait to get everyday. He loved it! When I opened a new tube of it, he wouldn't take it. I ordered another new tube and he wouldn't take that! So I began to search for one he'd like and purchased this one based on reviews. Unfortunately, he doesn't like this product. Nothing wrong with the product except my cat won't take it. Sorry.
