Both long and short haired cats shed to some degree all year long. Bathing and brushing helps lower the amount of hair swallowed during self-grooming, but some hair gets into the stomach and it cannot be digested. It can block your cat's digestive system. Regular use of Laxatone coats the swallowed hair and allows it to easily pass through the intestinal tract. Laxatone is a safe, gentle, easy-to-use gel used worldwide for over 25 years. It has an irresistible taste... just place the recommended amount of gel on your finger or on the animal's paw. For best results, feed between meals and do not mix with food.

I bought this brand due to the rating. It costs a bit more but my fur baby is worth it. He doesn't like the gel texture but likes the flavor. I will let him finish this tube but won't order again. So far it has not helped relieve the hair balls. I supplemented hair ball cat food and it has seemed to help. Will keep purchasing the other brand I bought Nutri-Vet Salmon flavor he really likes.
I’ve been using this brand my entire life ( I’m old) and cats usually lick it right up cuz they like the malt flavor. This weird cat, nope. Thought I’d try this fish flavor , along with more pin combing to curb the hairball vomiting . Liked it fine at first. Then grew suspicious so I resorted to putting it on her nose. WHATEVER WORKS. no more vomiting big clumps of hair.
At first Ginger didn't want anything to do with this gel. And she wasn't happy with me putting a tiny amount on her noise but after she licked it off she loves the stuff. She sees me reach for it and she gets all excited and comes right up to me and licks it off the tube as I squeeze a little up at a time for her. She's stopped throwing up so pretty sure the hair balls are gone. Can't say enough good stuff about this product.
One of my cats doesn't digest his fur very well after grooming and as a result eats and poops less because I guess it gets stuck in his intestines. Taking this remedy helps him poop it out.
My cat straight up ran away after stiffing this, but he's the pickiest treat eater I've ever met. So I'm not sure how well the product actually works lol
Have a Ragdoll. He constantly sheds everywhere and coughs up his hair balls with much ease due to this Cat Saver!!! Highly recommend and will always keep on hand!
I'm still on the fence with this item. We used to buy the Laxatone Hairball Control treats, but the recipe changed and they are too hard for my car to chew. This product turned her off in the beginning, so it's been a slow introduction every time, but I am not giving up. Everyday, I give just her a tiny amount on the tip of my finger, hoping she will get used to it. I can't say it is working because we are not following the directions on the tube yet.
Well, the cats do not like it and its very hard to swallow. The gel is to thick It would be nice is there were some kind of liquid that can be put on there food
I gave the correct dose to one of the outside cats and it seems to have worked. Only gave once. Not sure if it was a fit ball problem but the gagging and coughing stopped.
Working well for my German shepherd for hairballs from eating her fur. She thinks it’s a treat
