I like this puzzle because its not so big and the center of it is a decent challenge for my cat who quickly solves puzzles. However, the pink lever aspect is too hard for even me to push out easily using it correctly. When you push the lever all the way, it only exposes half of the first treat hole. Then to get the rest out, I have to tug it out because the pink rectangle is the exact size of the space it hides in so there is no way a cat could just pull it out as intended. The purple pull portion is fine and works well but the pink one is just for show essentially and treats will get left in there because they can't be retrieved. Anyways, with that being said, its a decent puzzle for smaller amounts of treats and the little ball things that block the way are fun. It just needs to be redesigned so that the pink one actually works. I'm going to say that I won't recommend it until they get that part worked out because it could just be a smaller toy and I feel like its frustrating for the animal to not be able to get to the treats that they can smell within it.
Our 3 cats love puzzles and have many. This is a good one! it's been down for hours and they haven't figured it out yet. I love that there are different difficulty levels too. I'm sure that this toy will provide hours and hours of amusement for years to come. Our youngest cat is the most determined (also very treat motivated) - this is a great way to stimulate her and keep her using her mind. She's so young and energetic and bores easily of everything except puzzles. She is in love with this new toy.
Over all, not a bad device. Two design flaws keep this device from being a 5 star. 1. The lower treat compartments are too deep and narrow fir the reward to be properly recieved. 2. Because of Flaw #1, kibble ofter gets stuck where the trays are supposed to slide which is frustrating for a cat in training, and prevents the device from properly rewarding desired behavior.
I have known many cats in my life and none were as smart and curious as my one year old. She quickly masters every puzzle toy and begs for more. The concepts of this toy are great however it sticks. Also treats can get into some spots that they are nearly impossible to retrieve them from. That second part isn't a deal breaker but the sticking is a big issue. She simply gives up on it when it sticks. I can't find any reason for it. The two balls from the top disappeared under the couch on the first day. She had no trouble with them but she is such a playful thing that they didn't stand a chance.
Tangerine figured out this toy completely in about a day and really loves it! It's a useful way to keep her occupied so that she isn't super bored and doesn't try to bite me while I'm working from home. Highly recommend!
We got this for our VERY mechanically inclined cat to work with for treats. The standard size of temptations and greenies is such that it gets stuck in the channels where the sliders move when he tries to get them out with his paw, then can't operate any of it. Also, the ball shaped covers roll and we lost one before we gave up on this toy entirely. Still haven't found that cover but we gave the toy away to someone with a dog.
I am finally getting the hang of this!! It is my second puzzle ever! It was a bit challenging but I am getting there!!
Well, I bought this one hoping he'd find it fun and interesting , but I may either have the dumbest cat in the world or the most particular cat in the world. I tried to show him all the wonderful things it had in store for him, but he just touched it and then looked at me as if I was nuts. I kept it here hoping things would change, but no. He loves his other toy with balls he can swat around the spiral, but this one...he says thumbs down. :-(
My cat likes the challenge of this toy however a couple of parts do not slide/nice as smoothly as they should
This toy keeps my very active, and kind of destructive, cat busy for at least 20-30 minutes. There's varying levels of difficulty with the treats and you can change up where you put them to keep the cat engaged. Would definitely recommend.
