Prescribed to treat colitis after Endsorb and Metronidazole didn't work to ret rid of the colitis caused by colitis caused by Royal Canin's Recovery food. Make my dog sicker and unfortunately did not work and had to stop the medication. Royal Canin has not been cooperative at all regarding the Recovery food giving my dog colitis. Wanted authorization to contact my vet to get all her records, wouldn't accept them from me and wouldn't guarantee a refund but made my dog very sick.
Right now, Chewy sells this product by two manufacturers, and I really prefer this one. The powder isn’t quite as fine/dusty making it easier to work with. The other kind is SO dusty.. you can’t help inhaling it and getting it on your skin while giving it to your pet. This brand is just a lot more pleasant. My dog gets mouth sores from this medication but it helps his IBD tremendously so our vet has us encapsulate it, which has illuminated the mouth sores.
I am giving this to my dog that was diagnosed with SIBO. I have been mixing it into sweet potatoes, but the taste is still sour to him, so I started mixing it into honey and then adding that to the sweet potatoes, it seems to be less sour to him because he ate it. I have not seen any improvement in his poop yet, still looks like soft serve and drippy. He has been taking 1/8 tsp three times a day for 2 weeks now.
Sami says thank you every time she has a belly problem and I give her Tylan it's the best I've found for stomach or diarrhea problems.
Since she was a puppy, Annie had loose stools no matter what food she was trying. The Tylan works and has for 10 years.
By purchasing my dog’s medicine from Chewy, I was able to save over $60. Chewy sold the medication in a larger quantity than I could purchase from the veterinarian at a very reasonable price. Thank you Chewy, I gladly buy my dog and cat food from you also.
This is a natural antibiotic which requires a prescription. It’s terrific for inflammation of the intestinal tract and firms up loose stools. It can be used long term if necessary.
Our two golden doodles periodically get diarrhea and our vet always prescribes Tylan and it is gone in a day or so. Unfortunately, the diarrhea seems to come at 2am on a weekend when it takes time to get the medication from the vet. Since we know it is nothing more serious, our vet gave us a prescription to order this from Chewy. It is great to have it on hand and be able to give it to them in the middle of the night to catch the diarrhea quickly, normally stops right away.
Pharmacy at Chewys was super helpful in processing this order
It's hard working with my vet, and these people are wonderful. They are responsive and quick to resolve issues! This powder is a good alternative to metronidazol.
