While raw food can be used on this bowl, after extended use with wet food and washing the bowl, it will compost and breakdown.

it 47 percent bamboo material what is the other 53 percent? it feels like plastic to me??

Eco products are made from a plasticresin called bio-composite, which consist entirely of plant material. 92%-95% is made of plant fibers from bamboo grass and rice husks. 5%-8% is made of an organic binding agent (glucose/amino acids).

Cute, non-slip base, robust, right-sized

I have 4 cats inside and use a robot vacuum, so need to protect the cat food from getting bumped around, and need a whisker-friendly plate for their canned food

I have 4 cats inside and use a robot vacuum, so need to protect the cat food from getting bumped around, and need a whisker-friendly plate for their canned food. I use 5-ounce cans and wasn't sure if this little dish was going to be big enough to hold a whole can and not result in them pushing the food out onto the tray that holds their food and water. Happy to report that the non-skid base really works well, the little dish comfortably fits a 5-ounce can of pate cat food, they can eat the food without whisker irritation on the low sides, it's easy to clean, and it looks like it's going to last a long time - it's well made. Happy me, happy cats!

Lightweight and stays put. Great for traveling.

We keep a set for our three cats in our RV and also in their travel bag. I prefer ceramic bowls in the house, but the Ecoware bowls would be just fine for home

We keep a set for our three cats in our RV and also in their travel bag. I prefer ceramic bowls in the house, but the Ecoware bowls would be just fine for home use as well. They look very good, especially for the price. They don't scoot around at all even though they're very light. My cats are aggressive eaters, so the fact that these bowls stay put while they eat is remarkable.

They go through the dishwasher beautifully. The bottom really is non skid. Affordable and comfortable for the kitties. Easy to clean for the human.

I love the silicone bottom because it’s non-skid. My kitten still accidentally knocks the bowls over sometimes, but it could be worse if not for the silicone. Very easy to clean as well! But the biggest draw for me was that they were super cheap and sold separately. I read cats don’t like to have their food and water close together, so I needed individual bowls. Much harder to find than you think, and much more expensive, too. In my experience, these bowls are convenient (good material for a relatively cheap price).

The wet food that I give to my kitties in these Eco bowls spreads out around the dish as the kitties eat. The food doesn’t get pushed up into the sides of the dish, and the kitties can easily reach all their food. Also, the dishes are shallow, and the kitties don’t have to stick their faces and whiskers way into the bowl. My kitties can reach as much of their food serving as they wish. Also, because the bowls have a nonstick underside, the kitties don’t have to chase their bowl around.
