Is this ok for dogs?

Answer by ChewyNov 14, 2019
Cat grass can be fed to cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, and small animals. Sprouting grass seeds for your pet gives them a safe, toxin-free dietary supplement and helps keep them from eating possibly toxic houseplants. Adjust the serving size according to the size of your pet. Cat grass can be eaten directly out of the pot or clipped and added to food.

I was excited to try this oat garden kit for my cat, and while the seeds did sprout, the results were far from what I expected. The grass never grew into a lush, full patch it stayed thin and sparse no matter how carefully I followed the instructions. The bigger issue came when my cat tried to nibble on it. Instead of being able to chew the blades, the entire sprout, roots, mulch, and all lifted right out of the dish with the slightest tug. It just wasn’t anchored well enough to withstand normal cat grazing. Overall, it sprouted, but it wasn’t sturdy, dense, or practical for actual use. I love the idea of these kits, but this one didn’t quite deliver.

Must not have been fresh

I’ve purchased many of these cat grass products through the years and this was the first one that I purchased that did not grow. I think grew like three or four grass stocks and that was it. I don’t know if it was older or if I just got a bad onewith some bad seeds, but didn’t grow for for us

Packaging usually sucks

I’m thinking about canceling because of poor packaging. Tge treats usually come busted open and this time 1 case of the cat food was opened as well and dented

It didn't look anytging lke the picture

While I love the idea of buying Chuck some oat grass for enjoying in the winter, the seeds ended up scattered across the top and didn't look anything like the picture

While I love the idea of buying Chuck some oat grass for enjoying in the winter, the seeds ended up scattered across the top and didn't look anything like the picture when it crew. Chuck was able to pull it out of the cup way too easily, which made for messes that had to be cleaned on the kitchen floor.

Grass treat

I like these kits and I got the cheapest one- you get a super dry peat moss that takes days to rehydrate and too many seeds for the container. However! My cats

I like these kits and I got the cheapest one- you get a super dry peat moss that takes days to rehydrate and too many seeds for the container. However! My cats always like it in the winter. Next time, I'll buy it in the fall as its hard to germinate when its 5 degrees.

Well the container arrived broken & the peat moss was half out of the container. Needs to be put in a box for protection. Anyway I salvaged what I could & put into a different container so we will see how that works. Was hoping to have these sprouting & growing before Christmas!

They don't know what to do with it

I grew it as directed and that worked, but my cats seem perplexed as to what to do with it. One played with it like it's a toy. ???

Always a mess

I tried this one, again, to see if anything had changed from previous purchases of the same product over the years. It had not. Still turns into a mess from start

I tried this one, again, to see if anything had changed from previous purchases of the same product over the years. It had not. Still turns into a mess from start to finish. Cup needs to be shaped with a smaller rim at the top to prevent the kitties from pulling everything EVERYTHING out of the cup. The seeds were fine and sprouted properly but that's about all the praise I can give.
