This would be used to treat a hot spot where my Lab licks his paws. Will it hurt him if he tries to lick off the solution?
Answer by ChewyFeb 04, 2018
This Spray is non-toxic and will not harm them if licked however, we recommend trying to keep them away from the area if possible, so it can heal faster.

Hot Spot spray

I had another type of this spray and it didn't seem to work as well. I do like this brand better for her

We love Chewy!

No matter what we order.. even in a recent emergency for some meds we couldn't find elsewhere. Chewy not only had in stock, but rushed the order and we were able to make Emma well until the Vet was able to see her. She was already on the mend. Ivthank Chewy for their help, and speed to get us what she needed. Chewy is ALWAYS there to help. Thank you Chewy, Emma is much better. Bless you guys

Did not help

Unfortunately, this product did not help my dogs hotspot. The wound progressed to an infection and I needed to use other products to help it.

Helped with happy tail

After struggling for over three weeks with a very sad case of happy tail, I was about at my wits end. Lola's tail wouldn't heal because she was constantly licking it or removing the bandages I had put on to protect her tail so that she could not lick it. She wouldn't keep a cone of shame of any description on for more than 10 seconds, and we weren't sure if her tail would ever heal. When we started using the hot spot spray, her tail finally stopped bothering her so much and we were able to keep vet tape on her tail long enough for the sore spot to scab over sufficiently. The fur is finally starting to grow back, and we are all happy again. I would highly recommend this product for any injury that your dog will not stop licking.

Just Okay For Infections

This was recommended by a dog groomer so I tried it on my German Shepherd's "hot spots" but it didn't seem to help. I still ended up going to my vet and he prescribed an oral antibiotic and my dog is feeling much better.

I think it was worth it

So I bought this for my rats to help them stop scratching and I was surprised that it’s actually gel. There weren’t any instructions on dosage for different animals but it seemed to work for a couple of hours. Just make sure you shake well because it separates from sitting too long. It doesn’t have any sort of strong smell and my rats didn’t seem to have any bad reactions to it.

Works Great - Instant Improvement

Works on dry, itchy spots immediately. Apply with cotton balls if cat doesn't like sprays. Must-have for your pet's first aid kit.
