I love this product for my Annie. We adopted her 3 years ago and she was an immune-comprimised shelter cat. Sneezing/teary eyes/respiratory issues would come and go until we tried this. As soon as the first sneeze was heard we would give this to her as directed 2X per day. Within 2 days she showed signs of improvement and not another sneeze out of her. While these sniffles attack her 2 or 3 times a year, this product nips them immediately...and she LOVES the maple flavor! I would highly recommend trying it.
Are you having problems administering product?

I squirt an inch line on my finger. I just tap his nose (by his mouth) with it and he laps it up! You can add to wet food. Or you can fill an oral syringe to 1ml and squirt in their mouth. Twice a day while having symptoms, once a day for maintenance. My cat automatically comes running to me when he hears that click of the lid opening. I no longer have to entice him to lap it up. Cats actually find Maple flavoring very palatable. Easy to use and excellent in treating symptoms!
Stops the runny nose

We found a sickly kitten and antibiotics were not working. Vet suggested viralys twice a day and I thought, yea sure ,how can this work? Well it is 7 years past and she does very well on this. Maybe has an outbreak once every year or two. Has been a life saver for her. She would sneeze thick yellow discharge from her nose, but now when she sneezes, it is clear! We LOVE this stuff.
Finally a product somebody will eat

I went through three different Lysine products (that nobody wants) until I found this one. Sweet 14-year-old Jimmy with Feline Herpes Virus likes this product. Unfortunately, it didn't help his respiratory issues and antibiotics don't work anymore since he had so many infections and treatments over the years. What does help him is Feline Resvantage. It is expensive but worth it. Maybe Chewy could add that to their inventory?
Would definitely recommend for picky eaters

This product is great and especially so for picky eaters. I have one cat that can’t get enough of her GNC lysine treats, but the others don’t mess with those. I purchased this alternative and it is so much easier. I had a sick cat that wasn’t eating nor messing with this gel but because of its form, I just put it in a syringe (no needle of course) and put it in his mouth and that was it! Better than attempting to stick a treat or pill down. The other cat loves it mixed into his wet food and I’ve caught him starting to lick it up before I’ve even mixed it in. I would definitely recommend this product!!
Helps with upper respiratory and eye discharge
on May 19, 2019
I give this to my cat. She has eye discharge. This helps stop it. Initially she did. It want to take this. So I got her used to it by smearing some inside her lips. Not she licks it right out of the measuring spoon!
Works but maple flavor?
on Mar 29, 2019
Bought this for my cat who has feline herpes and gets sores on her EYELIDS on the rare occasion it flares. This works immediately but it is SO HARD TO DOSE HER. I didn't realize it was maple flavor (typically comes in maple and some kind of meat, maybe fish?). Poor thing tries desperately to spit it out and get it all over her face. But really when is giving animals medicine ever that easy? It works so well it's worth the struggle.
our 4 cats love this stuff and dont mind it at all

My cat joyfully licked Viralys off my finger the past 6 years. HE DOES NOT WANT TO EAT THIS NEW TUBE. It's Really a Pain trying to get him to eat this now- UGH! He needs it for his herpes eye, it has really worked to keep his condition minimal.
cat won't eat it - maple flavor is a miss

My cat Sally thrives with lysine. I can't say this is a bad product, I just wish I could find an unflavored version. She will not eat this mixed into anything, plain or even off her paw. It must be the flavor. I can't disparage the quality of the contents. I just want an option that's not maple.
