While my cats won't take this from the tube (I haven't been successful in brushing their teeth, and my vet recommended simply getting them to take some toothpaste directly), they don't seem to eat around it if I put a dollop on their wet food. I have also been able to put some on my finger and transfer that to their tongues (for some of my cats). Their breath seems fresher, we'll see how their teeth fare when they go for their next annual check up.

I bought this toothpaste because I suspect my dog has a chicken/poultry allergy and it's very hard to find a toothpaste that doesn't have that. She loves fish, so I decided to try this one. My only concern is that the first ingredient is Sorbitol. The company also seem to over-fill the tube so it kind of oozes out/bursts when you first open it. The outer box that it comes in is very thin to the point I don't know why they bother using it because the tube just falls out. She seems to like the taste, but I probably wont order it again just because of the Sorbitol and poor packaging.

I’ve been buying Virbac for years and I’ve used it for 5 different cats. I only need to brush their teeth every 4 days and it really makes a big difference in their gum and tooth health. We haven’t needed professional cleaning in a very long time. In the long run it saves a lot of money and worry. They have fresh breath and their gums were red when I adopted them, now their gums are a healthy pink color. One tube lasts a long time and is reasonably priced. I have recommended Virbac on social media.

Very sticky

To my surprise the seafood flavor is a gel an not a paste like the chicken one. My cats seem to like it well enough. It is super sticky an stringy like thick glue

To my surprise the seafood flavor is a gel an not a paste like the chicken one. My cats seem to like it well enough. It is super sticky an stringy like thick glue. Idk if it's because it was cold out when I recieved this but when I opened the tube the gel practically shot out the top, at least it was full to the brim!

Defective/Swollen Tube - not sure it’s safe to use

I ordered the seafood flavor toothpaste back in April but left it unopened. (If I had opened it earlier, I would’ve returned it right away.) In the meantime, I used up the chicken flavor from autoship with no issues. When I finally opened the seafood one today, the tube was swollen and looked nothing like the normal ones. As soon as I opened the cap, the paste started oozing out on its own. I live in SF where it stays cool year-round, so it’s definitely not a storage issue. The product doesn’t expire until July 2026, so it’s clear something is wrong with this batch

Easy to use, well accepted by my cat

Is a soft gel with no bad odor, and my cat seems to think it tastes good, so brushing her teeth has gotten easier. Will continue to use his product.

Not a beneficial purchase

I was really hoping this would work for my cat but it ended up giving him minor tremors? After I would apply it and he was laying down, his head would start shaking

I was really hoping this would work for my cat but it ended up giving him minor tremors? After I would apply it and he was laying down, his head would start shaking a little; he didn't act any different other than that but it was definitely because of the toothpaste and has not happened since I stopped using it.

I’ve definitely noticed an improvement in our pup’s plaque build up, decreased “bad breath” and yellowing teeth. Started using this once a week and will definitely re purchase and recommend this toothpaste. The only “negative” is how fast the paste comes out of the tube and can be messy otherwise it’s great.

Seems to be keeping tartar at bay.

Lacey, age 16.5, and Piper, age 13.75, both (cats) have mild tartar on their teeth. I've never been able to use toothbrushes with him, but I place this toothpaste on a piece of J&J gauze that I wrap over my finger... every single night... and do my best to clean all teeth, all the way around. (My poor finger looks like a pin cushion.) I believe that this toothpaste is helping slow the build-up of tartar to a very, very slow pace. (Years ago, the company said that only the beef and seafood flavors were helpful with tartar control. I don't have any information about today's products. I keep using the seafood flavor, though.)
