I have been buying this product since our Kitty "Fox Mulder" dropped into our lives in Sept 2017. When I first started buying it was not in Gravy, I could see the wonderful fine cuts of seafood. Then upon reorder around July 2018 I was surprised that the "Now in Gravy" was on the label and sure enough the mushy goop was in the can instead of the nice solid piece of fish. I looked for other safe high quality foods and realized they were always in Gravy, so in my disappointment I had no choice but to continue buying Weruva. I still have the confidence it is the better product available, I just wish they would have continued producing the "not in Gravy" version, even if they decided the competition I have been buying this product since our Kitty "Fox Mulder" dropped into our lives in Sept 2017. • Hate the new formulas!

    By on

My cat is extremely picky and has a restricted diet, it took forever to find a food he ate, liked, and had no poultry,he absolutely loved the old formulas, and now won't touch any of them - as a cat food maker, it boggles my mind as to why you would change the formula and texture, knowing cats are sensitive to that. This new formula gets all hands and paws down. If I could give no stars, I would.

  • Grain-Free Cat Food

This product appeals to many types of cats. It is a personal preference. Our cats did not care for this flavor and prefer a variety of meats that have been made with ample gravy.

  • Poor quality cat food

My cats won't eat this. I ordered 48 cans and plan to donate the balance to our local Animal Shelter. I was very disappointed to learn too late this cat food was made in Thailand.

  • What was wrong with chunks of fish in aspic?!

    By on

Mack & Jack in Aspic - is one I would recommend without hesitation. However, our Siberian Forest Cat does not like this new recipe in gravy - gone are the chunks of fish as is her appetite. Weruva makes a great product - this change to Mack & Jack is not a good one. I agree with other reviews in writing for the return to the original in the 10oz can & to please not make this change to any of the other 10oz combinations that are also in aspic.

  • Hate the new recipe

    By on

My cats loved the old recipe, but refuse to eat this new form - which is mostly mush. The neighbor's outdoor "moocher" cat who comes over for snacks will eat it, but he eats anything. Awfully expensive for something my own cats won't touch. Very disappointing recipe change.

  • Disappointed with new formula

Our cat did not like the new formula that did not include chunks of fish. Instead it was blended as a puree. I suggest Weruva return to the original formula.

  • Please bring the old recipe back

    By on

My cats are very picky, but they used to love old mack and jack, that was one of their favorites. But not the new one. The new brown mash in the can is something different but attractive. Please bring the old recipe back!

  • Former Favorite Turned Down By Lower Catstomer

    By on

Mack and Jack has been Onyx's favorite and only wet food for nearly 10 years. We received a new shipment today and were disappointed to see that the formula seems to have changed along with the labeling. The food used to be full of chunks of fish but was mushy and overly wet. He used to run to the bowl at the sound of the can opening. When he'd get to the bowl, he wouldn't come up for air until his portion was gone. Today he sniffed the bowl and walked away.
