What country is the catfish from and does Zignature use chelated vitamins ?
Answer by ChewyOct 26, 2017
Zignature's catfish is sourced from the Unites States in Georgia. They do use chelated vitamins and minerals and they come from Trouw Nutrition in the United States.

Is the source of the catfish farm-raised or wild-caught?
Answer by ChewyDec 07, 2017
The catfish will be farm raised so they can be closely monitored. They're raised in clean, wide open fresh water tanks and fed GMO free food.

Zignature manufacturer, is the preservative, ethoxyquin added to the raw catfish meal before it is shipped to you to be processed ? Can you guarantee that there is no ethoxyquin in this food ?
Answer by ChewyMar 08, 2018
Zignature confirms that they don’t include synthetic preservatives such as ethoxyquin in their dry or wet food (Zignature is preserved naturally with mixed tocopherols).

I feed my dog Zignature Salmon formula. If I switch to the Catfish formula do I need to do it gradually?
Answer by ChewyJun 07, 2018
Because Zignature products are formulated to have similar nutrient profiles it is a great rotational diet. If your dog is sensitive to certain proteins, it is recommend that you try to stay within protein groups with your rotation (fish with fish, poultry with poultry, meat with meat, etc.)

Gas, Diarrhea, and loose yellow stools

None of my four (terrier mix) dogs did well on this food. Despite slowly incrementing this into their old food they are still having a ton of stomach problems. They’ve either had bad diarrhea or very soft yellow poops. They’ve also had some stinky gas and have been been eating a ton of grass on their walks. I was hoping they would adjust to it after sometime but so far the symptoms have been getting worse. I’ll definitely have to go back to their old food.

Happy Hounds

Our four hounds are doing very well on this food. They like eating it, their poops are much more consistent and a better color, and they are less prone to skin irritation issues.

Good Stuff

My dog likes zignature dog food. This is the first time he has had the catfish. We rotate proteins and use other foods as well we use this as 1/2 daily feeding and use it for training rewards as well. We have used the turkey and kangaroo. Plan to continue using zignature.

Enjoys eating

When my dog needs a bit more oil in her food I feed her the catfish formula. She has a ton of allergies and the Zignature food is one of the few that doesn't trigger them.

Highly Recommend

My 2yr old Rottweiler drools every time it’s time for breakfast or dinner! This food has great quality ingredients and a family-owned company. ZERO CHICKEN PRODUCTS. ZERO WHEAT/CORN/SOY. Fantastic for dogs with allergies and with proper feeding amounts, keeps your dogs weight in check.

The Ingredients for this dog food has changed and not for the better! Every time I feed this to my fur baby she is up all night long. Throwing this bag of food in the garbage!!!

DO NOT BUY

My 3 dogs were all basically healthy before this food. They all now have bloody diarrhea. This food has massive carbs plus my vet tells me he believes it was recalled often yet chewy still sells it. Save yourself $1000s in vet bills don't but this food or from chewy

Best food for allergies

We love Zignature catfish. For years I tried every brand of dog food there is. My pitbull does the best on grain free food. She has stomach and skin allergies. She is a senior. Catfish and salmon are the two favorites. The salmon is really expensive, but my dogs love it. The cat fish does not smell bad and is great quality. All three of our dogs eat it no problem. My Pitbulls dont have any skin issues with this food, which is a huge plus!

Product made skin problems worse

I gave this product a one star not because of quality of the product. My Boxer ate the food and his poops were good, but his skin problems worsened eating this food. I've switched him to Fresh Pet rather than dry dog food which seems to be helping his skin and itching for right now.
