My dog has kidney disease couldn't get him to eat hardly anything he loves this food & I know the tripe & lamb are good for him . The food really smells bad but maybe that is why he likes it.

    Crack for Dogs

    By on

I don't know what's in this (actually it's only good stuff ), but my dog loves it. My Standard Poodle is a super picky eater and I've tried everything. He would now eat anything if I top it with this. It's wildly expensive and definitely too costly to feed a large dog exclusively, but as a topper, it's a miracle food.

With a sensitive GI track, food allergies, plus finicky with foods, our giant breed pup is now happy with a mixture of Ziwi Tripe & Lamb, Tripett green Lamb Tripe, Ziwi Lamb kibble & Firm Up dry pumpkin.

Smells like butt! But that just means my dog comes flying for it!

It's hard to overstate how bad tripe smells, it really does stink! Cover it and pop it in the refrigerator quickly after opening so you can breathe easier. But stink is exactly what dogs find enticing and my hound mix can barely wait for me to put the bowl down. He is not a picky eater at all, but he usually waits across the room for his meals to be prepared. Since starting on this wet food, he sits perched on the bed next to his food station and practically pounces on it as I'm setting the bowl down. I like that it has a looser texture to it and isn't a solid tube of paté. I'm working on getting him to drop some pounds, so I mix a scoop of this in with steamed veggies, a shot of warm water It's hard to overstate how bad tripe smells, it really does stink! As long as the veggies are coated in the wet tripe, he won't spit them out. It is pricey, but worth it in the long run. … more

    Great product!

    By on

I was looking for a super healthy, high quality canned food my dog and I definitely found it! (I also wanted something with tripe since I've read it's supposed to be really good for dogs) Allergies have always been an issue for my girl but she LOVES this stuff and her skin and coat have never looked better. This kind is great for kong stuffing too and my dog really enjoys it. It is a little smelly but I can live with that since it does seem to be so beneficial for my dog. I'd definitely recommend this product, very high quality!

Unlike Any Other Dog Food on the Market

    By on

Despite US marketing about "healthy" dog foods, almost all US brands are made in a handful of US processing facilities with limited controls on the part of the mega companies that subcontract to these plants. Fillers (meat by products), preservatives, less than optimum meat sources are unavoidable. Ziwi Peak is processed in a New Zealand plant where the company has complete control, sources grass fed, hormone free meat and is incredibly thoughtful in the overall products' content. After extensive research, I started cooking my dog's food to alleviate an annoying skin irritation. Preparing that much raw meat in my small kitchen became burdensome, so I tried Ziwi Peak as an alternative. After extensive research, I started cooking my dog's food to alleviate an annoying skin irritation. Preparing that much raw meat in my small kitchen became burdensome, so I tried Ziwi Peak as an alternative. While I still add vegetables and various healthy carbohydrate sources to round out the menu, I found many of the supplements I had to add to the meat I was cooking were already in the Ziwi Peak formulations. The only draw back is the price. However, buying grass fed, hormone & antibiotic meat is also expensive - plus the supplements! Add the convenience factor and I'm now an enthusiastic supporter of Ziwi Peak!! … more

    Incredibly healthy

    By on

My dogs devour this food. I have 4 small breed dogs. One with severe allergy and stomach issues. He hardly eats. Bought this to supplement his food and he LOVES it. It is stinky. I feed them outside and it's not so bad.
