When the turtle bites into the block, do loose pellets float in the tank?

The turtles should bite into the block to get the pellets, it may take a bit for your turtle to figure out there is food in the block if they have never had something like this before. Typically, the pellets do not float as the turtle will eat them pretty quickly.
