Parakeet Perches
Parakeet perches are an essential component of your pet bird's habitat, both inside and outside of the cage. Parakeets use perches for relaxing, climbing, chewing, exercise, and play. A parakeet stand perch can provide a great way to interact with your bird outside of the cage, too.
Many types of perches are good for parakeets. Get a parakeet stand perch where your bird can relax and play outside of the cage, as well as multiple perches for inside the cage. Good parakeet cage perch types include:

Be sure to provide multiple perches of various lengths in diameters that are comfortable for your bird. Choose ones your bird can comfortably grip—for the best fit, your bird's toes should extend roughly ¾ of the way around. Avoid perches that are too large or too rough, as these may cause sores, irritation, or even a painful condition called bumblefoot.
Some of the best budgie perches are made of natural materials like wood—like the branches birds perch on in the wild—although you can mix things up with perches made from things like rope, natural fiber, plastic, metal, cuttlebone, and more. The only real rules are to choose ones that are chew-safe, nontoxic, and comfortable for your parakeet's feet, and replace them whenever they show signs of age and wear.
