Yummy Chew Bone for Medium Sized Sog
This chew bone IMMEDIATELY caught the attention of my 45 lb beagle-mix 10 year old dog! The outer baked crust even smelled appealing to me - and it caught her sniffer quickly. She had a little trouble lifting it to carry around at first - quite heavy - but she managed to carry it from room to room, onto her beds and up onto a couch. Shes been working on it for days - extremely long-lasting chew - keeping her busy and happy with tail wags. The first day, she carried it outside for potty time and back in - ensuring her cat siblings wouldn’t touch it. I did have to put it away the first night as she barely took a break from it - and the gnawing noise was hard to fall asleep to. After about a day and a half, it broke into a couple pieces - then eventually into 5 pieces. Others away the smallest to be safe - but the others are still very large and she has scattered in a couple places in house to pick up once in a while and chew on some more. I would suggest pet parents just monitor to be sure no sharp edges emerge or small shards - but I’ve only seen one piece that I was cautious of. This has been an excellent chew bone for our Rosie! She’s enjoyed it longer than any others I’ve tried! Flavorful clearly, and long lasting!
Perfect for big dogs that destroy bones quickly!
This bone is HUMONGOUS! When the box showed up my critters were all going nuts because they could smell it. When I opened the box and saw that it is the entire beef hock, I knew it would be perfect for my Great Dane Archie. He is very polite with treats but shreds all of his toys so this bone has been perfect for him to chew on since it is thick and heavy duty. ***Word of warning- it is very oily and messy so make sure it’s not on your carpet! The first day that I gave it to him he was able to break it into smaller pieces rather quickly but even those pieces are much larger than his normal bones. I took the big chunks away and gave him the smaller pieces to work on and once the oily part has been licked clean then he can have them on his bed. It’s been a week and he still has a couple of pieces left to work on. I will definitely order this again as a special treat for my big guy since he consumes his extra large bones in 2 bites!
Great chew!
Let my two medium sized dogs try this bone out. Love that it's USA made and the ingredient list is literally just beef bone. Only got one but my springer spaniel broke off a good chunk that I then gave to our husky mix. Kept them both entertained for a good three hours before they started taking a break. It starts out with some muscle or tendon on it that they can pull off and eat which they loved. And it has kept my springers attention which is great cuz we've been trying to find him something that he's interested in enough to chew some of the gunk off his teeth. I gave it 4 stars just because it did break into a lot of pieces and one was small enough that I threw it away to avoid them swallowing it and hurting themselves. Just common sense to supervise your dogs when giving them something new. I felt like overall this is a great chew and my dogs love it.

Up here in rural NY I received the large bone wrapped well in plastic. My Mountain Cur- Ruby was excited when she saw what it was. Some difficulty opening the wrapping and the bone actually split in two. Not a real problem since I don’t think Ruby could handle the actual size of the bone. I chose the size for a 50-100lb dog but she’s only about 55lb so I’ll err on the smaller side next time. She took her treat and ran to her special spot and dove in. The bone was crispy with plenty of meat left on it to chew for hours. She left behind lots of small bits that needed cleaning up but it was a great special treat for her. What she had ended up dissolving into three separate bones. Of course she needed some supervision when gnawing on it and there was maybe one piece that was clearly too small for chewing and I took it away. I’d recommend this to a friend with a much bigger dog. Since she’s our only canine surrounded by multiple felines, she needs a good treat once in a while and Chewy supplies her with them.
Keep your pup busy for hours!
My golden retriever thoroughly enjoyed this bone! I could tell it was going to be a bit messy, so I let him enjoy it outside and it kept him engaged for well over an hour. The bone itself is very large, but broke down into smaller chunks as he continued to work at it. He’s successfully eaten off all of the tasty bits by this point, but a week later there are still large pieces of bone that he continues to go back to everytime I let him outside. This is not the type of bone that your dog will be able to devour in 15 minutes, which I was pleasantly surprised by.
Big, meaty bone
I received this beef hock bone and was surprised at how big it was. I was skeptical because my dog doesn’t like other bones but he took to this one right away. It is pretty messy because the outer layer does flake off easily so I moved it to outside. It broke apart into 3 pieces when I picked it up. My dog liked eating the outer layer but has only occasionally licked the bone itself. My picky cat also likes to lick it. It has a meaty smell to it. Due to the size and that I put it outside, it will take awhile before my dog finishes it off because he’s inside most of the time, but it’s definitely a bone I would buy for him.
Yummy treat - Australian Cattledog approved
This beef hock treat was AWESOME for my 2 outdoor dogs, Yeti & Lil’ Reba! They say this one hock bone is good for 1 medium sized dog, but my two 45lb Australian Cattledogs happily shared it for hours! First off…I was able to pull it apart into two pieces so each had a big chunk. Even though one dog can be picky, they were both thrilled and both happily gnawed on it for a long time! Bite bite, chew chew. They were occupied and loving it until I eventually picked up the treats and saved the rest for another treat time. Great for their teeth and occupies their mind… I will definitely buy more in the future. Perfect for a mid day treat or to keep them happily busy.
Super Chewer Dog Approved!
My dogs were so excited when this came in the mail - they could smell it through the box! But it’s not smelly though, even as they chewed it, I couldn’t really smell any odor. Basil was hesitant at first because it was so big but he really enjoyed picking and peeling off all the crusty chunks. Tomato loved chewing on the flavored bone. One negative is I really had to watch them as they chewed, the bone feel apart into little pieces that could have been a choking hazard so I had to take those away. But overall, it’s a great product! My super chewer dogs had a great time with it!
Bone didn't last as long as I thought it would
The first observation we made with the arrival of this bone, was that it contains some natural fat oils that do leak through the plastic packaging and box. Unfortunately, it also leaked out of the box and onto our floor since none of us thought to look on the bottom of the box when delivered (see pic). If you order this bone, be aware that the bottom of the cardboard box could have oil on it. The bone we received was heavy, cooked/smoked, appeared meaty and our dog loved the smell of it. We have an Australian shepherd mix who is a power chewer...and LOVES bones. We thought this particular bone would last her quite a while as it appeared to be slightly larger than other bones we had purchased for her in the past. Unfortunately, this bone only lasted about 30-45 minutes. Thankfully, I was with her because what was left after 30 minutes were two bone pieces. Then, as she ate into those two larger pieces, those broke into smaller pieces - a few she could have choked on. After I removed the smaller pieces, she continued gnawing on the 3 knuckle-looking pieces that were left (see pics). She enjoys tossing them in the air with her mouth and playing with them. Overall, our dog liked the bone, but it didn't last very long. Also, the small fragments that come off of the bones can be choking hazards, so you will need to be aware of the pieces that come off. Lastly, the bone was a little messy, so I would recommend giving this to your dog as an outside treat.
