I know this is what they say is the recommended diet for hamsters but mine doesn’t seem to like it. There is a pretty good variety of options in this mix but he

I know this is what they say is the recommended diet for hamsters but mine doesn’t seem to like it. There is a pretty good variety of options in this mix but he is not interested in any of it. I don’t know why. I’m going to put it outside for the wild bunnies in the field next door. I will look for an alternative mix and see if he will like it any better.

Lots of larger seed, less filler seed

I purchased this thinking my gerbil would like it because there's not much of the tiny filler seed that he never eats, but turns out he doesn't like many of the

I purchased this thinking my gerbil would like it because there's not much of the tiny filler seed that he never eats, but turns out he doesn't like many of the larger seeds in this one for some reason. I was excited to see all the seeds and thought this will definitely be a winner. Usually he always eats sunflower and pumpkin seeds but he won't touch the sunflower seeds in this one. Not sure if maybe they are a different type that isn't appealing to him. So I'm finding I'm still having to pick through it to give him what he likes which seems to be an occasional pumpkin seed, dried fruit and peanuts. Seems I will be throwing more of this away than I did the one with the filler seed. I knew my gerbil was fussy but never thought I'd see the day he'd turn down sunflower seeds.
