My kitty is not much of a chewer of anything outside of my electronics cables, it turns out, but she enjoys the tassels on this thing anyway. If it's got any catnip to it, she's not interested. That is not the case for other toys which claimed to be catnip infused, and she did like. So not sure how strong the infusion in this one was, if I'm remembering the description right. If you had a dedicated chewer I would mind the tassels, but the disc seems very sturdy.
I got this to have something to redirect my cat Karma to when she's wanting to chew on cables/my fingers/my purse, and it worked wonderfully for about three weeks. She loves the little fabric strips attached to it, and enjoys chewing on the ring. I'm sure it would work great for a young kitten who doesn't have the jaw strength of my adult 9 lb cat. Unfortunately, Karma is very single-minded about chewing things sometimes. When she began gnawing on the little nubs with her back teeth, she pretty quickly chewed off two of the nubbins and ate one before I noticed and took it away. If your cat likes to gnaw on things like a dog, like my girl does, you should look for something else. I'm going to try small dog chew toys, since those will hopefully be tougher.
My cat chewed off the outer "triangles" in less than four hours! Do not know where those pieces went. I assume in the cats tummy! Do NOT buy. I think this is dangerous. Perhaps if those "triangles" were removed it would be okay. My youngest two year old cat loves to bite on soft, springy stuff.
One of our 3 kittys has since his kitten days been a chewer. He needed a teething ring when he was very young and still needs this for comfort. Our other 2 kittens enjoy an occasional chew. This is a great and purposeful item for our precious kittys!!
One of our kittens (~4 months) tries to chew fingers and toes, so we tried this as something to offer as a positive alternative. He chews on the strings more than the plastic, but he loves it--perfect size for carrying and batting around. We should have known that his brother would be jealous and had to get a second one.
I am giving this a 5 star because it is a good product, unfortunately, my kitten didn't care for it. I love the red part to be for chewing, and my kitten is a HUGE chewer, but wants nothing to do with the red part. He will chew on the blue ribbons, but likes his other toys of balls and shoe laces, and wand streamers much much better. My kitten will use all his other toys, except this. He even has a mouse with a ring on the other side and he chews on that for hours. This is a great made product, and would recommend for others.
Instead of my finger, my baby will chew on this. Fantastic toy. I’d recommend anyone to buy it for their teething fur baby.
It really helps to keep my cat from chewing up my shoes. Still looking for the perfect chew toy though. Worth the money if you have a chewer.
both of our 15 month old cats enjoy this toy. They bat it around and carry it in their mouth.
Hoping this is working to clean kitties teeth. One kitten plays with this but his brother has no interest. Typical!
