  • Good product, but a mess to clean

    By on

I bought the DE to get rid of fleas in my carpets. We left the powder on for a week and it killed almost all of them. Only one or two jumping on me a day. Will have to reapply another lighter coating and leave for a couple days. It does however leave a coating on EVERYTHING! And had to constantly wipe and rewipe everything down. But it is a good product for fleas.

  • Cheap and Useful

I bought this to get rid of my new pigeon's mite and lice infestations. Daily dustings for 2 weeks seemed to do the trick. Great quality, super fine and useful for getting under her feathers. It doesn't bother her as much as liquid spray treatments, as pigeons are already super dusty, but I could mix it into some water and bathe her with it that way too. I also don't have to worry about her ingesting too much of it while she preens because it's nontoxic to her and not full of chemicals like other treatments. 2 pounds is more than enough for my one bird, it's dirt ;) cheap, and has been more effective than sprays or dips. Be prepared for an absolute MESS when you open it though, it's so hard I bought this to get rid of my new pigeon's mite and lice infestations. Daily dustings for 2 weeks seemed to do the trick. Be prepared for an absolute MESS when you open it though, it's so hard to contain but it's basically dust so I expected as much. The way they seal the bag with thread isn't really ideal either, the box it came in was full of escaped dust when it got to me. Overall, would recommend for other pigeon/chicken/quail owners, it's a great natural alternative to chemicals that is actually nontoxic (unlike many other 'natural' treatments that could potentially harm your pet). … more

  • Multiple uses for these product, very diverse

    By on

I really like this product ,if used properly is very affective for pets internally & externally, was hoping to get another bag that was on sale! I put in cart to buy when the price was automatically changed to much higher price, so that was very disappointing ....so shop around else where to find better price....

  • It's good.

    By on

After months of the exterminator our apartment management had treating for roaches, I decided that I'd take things into my own hands. I sprinkled DE in places I've seen roaches, with no worry for Sophie because it's food grade. After 2 wks, I can already see improvement.

  • Didn't Work…

    By on Top 500 Contributor

I tried this for various problems. It didn't do anything but make a mess. I powered the carpet and brushed it into the cats fur and still we had fleas. I'd actually say more fleas than we had when we didn't try to go natural. We also put in their food. We stopped because we couldn't tell a difference. The natural method just didn't work for us. Maybe we have to many (we have 19). I now have half a bag just sitting in my pantry.

  • So much you can do!

    By on

I first learned about DE in animal rescue. Using it in their food to help cleanse from the inside out. Finding out humans can use for the same purpose as well is a bonus. PLUS add in that it helps if you have an ant problem or issues with insects in your garden - you've scored big time!

  • Earth food

I used it for bugs in the home, it worked the second time around. I haven't seen any since. However, I did use salt on my carpets with it. Id buy it again.

  • Good but dusty

It's good stuff, but it's very dusty. Love that it's non toxic and safe for all... But you have to clean your vacuum really good after every use, or you'll ruin/break your vacuum cleaner...

  • Blue Dixie'Ann & Razor

My furbabies have been using diatomaceous earth food grade for almost 3 weeks and I can see the change drastically! All three have way more of a appetite! Their fur is getting so much shinier. And NO fleas!!! I've Been sprinkling DE around the yard, giving them a tablespoon in there food daily and directly to there fur and combing it thru. This has definitely changed our lives in a wonderful way. Thanks so much chewy! From blue razor Dixie'Ann and us the parents.
