My dog is a vizsla.. long and lean, like a greyhound, or whippet, and I've yet to find a coat that doesn't flap out on her back (tail end) like a cape! Are there any adjustments to tighten up this area?

This jacket has an adjustable velcro closures on the neck and belly ensure a snug, comfortable fit. For accurate selection, measure from the base of your dog’s neck to the base of the tail. If your dog falls between sizes, order a size up.

when it says collar opening for leash does that mean opening is in the front, under neck, or on shoulders

Bought this jacket after much research and it was the best purchase I made for my dog. Although she doesn't normally need a jacket due to thick fur, I was looking for something when it rains, as we play sometimes in the pouring rain and she gets wet to the skin and during warmer weather that is ok, but when colder out I don't want her to be wet and then cold. So as a raincoat, this was perfect. The bonus is that the fleece inside layer snaps on and then it becomes a Winter coat, which again she normally doesn't need, but when temps drop to less than 20 degrees and with wind, the coat is a added bonus to keep play time outside longer. I bought a large for a 50lb dog and it fits perfectly, with added room. It is made with high quality material and stitching. I bought orange because now it can also serve as protection during woods walks during hunting season - so for the money I know have three coats in one! A win win win!

This is a well constructed and well designed coat. The two layers snap together in a few places. The outer shell has a lining making it a very nice rain jacket in and of itself. And the fleece jacket underneath is also great on it's own. The only down side I've found to this fantastic coat is that in the front where the jacket velcros together on the chest of the dog, the corresponding flaps on the inner fleece jacket need to be folded in half to fit inside the outer shell and this creates unnecessary bulk. The flaps on the under side, or belly area of the dog do not have this problem. I've had minor difficulty keeping the front flaps closed due to the extra bulk, tends to make the velcro come apart. But, this is still a fantastic coat! I would recommend it.

The jacket fit my dog good. He also looks very good in it. The jacket is actually two pieces, a fleece and the top rain jacket. My dog does not like clothes at all but will wear this no problem. The only downfall is where you put the loop for the harness or collar, it ripped the fabric on the rain jacket and the fleece the first time we used it. So I plan on creating a seam and sewing it and I think it will work fine.

Bought a large because that's the biggest size you carry. According to the chart, it SHOULD still fit my boy as the measurements still work, but the jacket is VERY small on him. I can still use it, but I would much prefer bigger because this jacket really doesn't give him much cover. Bought an XL in the hurricane vest and it fits great but isn't as heavy as this one. Wanted heavier for the biting cold winter wind. Also, not a huge fan of the velcro closure. If it's a bit snug and the dog is active, the velcro has a habit of popping open. I may end up reinforcing it with some hook and eye clasps or a couple buttons. Overall, this is a good coat but has the potential to be amazing with a couple improvements. Sure wouldn't spend $60 on it but was happy to spend $8 on sale.

Unfortunately, because these jackets were on sale, there were not larger sizes available. I would caution any buyer of this jacket to order a full size larger than what the chart says. Chewy's customer service for the return of the jackets was fantastic and heartwarming. While I am not happy with the purchases, I am very happy with Chewy's customer care.
