Because this is how you launch cat litter across the room. In theory this product is great and works ok. But the handle angle makes it really difficult to scoop the litter without really getting in a covered box. And if you are in a hurry and don’t slowly release the button. Watch out!
Such a creative design for a litter scoop!! The angle of the handle is so comfortable and it keeps my hand from touching any waste. It is so easy to gather all of my kitty waste and it’s really fun to hit the button and drop it into the trash! I love it, highly recommended for call cat parents!
It's a little clumsy to use, and the sifting portion of the scoop does not work well with pellet type litter.
I like the idea of this and it generally works but the bottom is a little small for clumped pee. Also, the strainer slots should go all the way to the trap door. I would love this if the trap door was the same size and shape as a litter genie.
There is a weak point in the design making the scoop unusable if the layer of litter is thick or there are large clumps in the litter.
I've only used it for one day, my thoughts thus far. #1 - I'm disappointed that the holes are bigger than the tiny bits, however, it does seem to be easier to catch the tiny bits with this design, although you'll also end up throwing some unsifted litter. #2 - The design makes my wrist ache. If you have weak hands/arthritis/carpal tunnel, buyer beware. #3 - The spring trap door is super tight. You push the button to open the trap door, and when you release the button the trap door snaps closed. The first time I used the scoop, there was apparently a little bit of litter remaining in the scoop when I released the button, and the action of the trap door threw it up in my face (gross). So I quickly learned to a) make sure it's completely emptied of all grains of litter and b) don't let it snap shut, slow-release the button. I'm currently undecided if I actually like this design, I really don't see its merit. It's going to be a pain to clean if/when it gets nasty. I'm going to continue to use it because I just bought a Litter Genie which has a small opening for the litter and I thought this might work well; and also I needed a scoop better able to get the "tiny bits". Maybe after I give it a chance, those will be its merits.
This scoops and sifts well, and the flap opens easily with a push of the button. My issue was I have big cats with big pees (and some cats who like to pee in the same spot) and the opening wasn't big enough for these bigger chunks to pass through the "chute". This would work well for smaller cats, or cats who don't all like to pee in the same corner of the box!
Seems like a really good idea but is super awkward to use. The angles just did t work for me.
I absolutely love this! Such a great idea. Where has this been all my life!
