Chewy Claus is helping 2-year-old Shepherd-Labrador Retriever mix Raybans find a home. Could you be his new family? He is available for adoption in the Washington, D.C., area through Lucky Dog Animal Rescue. Because he’s still building confidence, his ideal home includes a confident, welcoming resident dog to show him the ropes. Visit his Petfinder page to learn more and submit an inquiry.
Raybans, a 2-year-old Shepherd-Labrador Retriever mix, is a silly and playful pup with a heart full of love to give. At home with his foster mom Perry, he’s an energetic and cuddly companion.
But despite his winning smile and lovable personality, he’s been waiting more than 600 days for the one thing he wants most: a family of his own.
Perry and Raybans attend adoption events nearly every weekend. But in unfamiliar and crowded places, sweet Raybans can be nervous and shy, often staying tucked away while potential adopters pass him by.
“People don’t want to bother him at events or try to get to know him because they don’t want to make him scared,” Perry says. “I wish people knew that he’s actually super goofy … He jumps up to greet you and gives you big hugs and kisses with the most excitement. That’s who he really is.”
Once he feels safe, Raybans is a completely different dog. He somersaults into laps, asks for butt scratches, and greets his favorite people with enthusiastic hugs and kisses. He just needs to find his people.
Raybans deserves a forever home, just like the thousands of adoptable pets in shelters and rescues nationwide. That’s why this year, every letter pet parents write to Chewy Claus helps to sponsor free adoptions for pets across the country.
Chewy Claus will provide everything Raybans needs to get started on his new life, from food to toys to treats and even access to veterinary care.
So don’t forget to send your letter to Chewy Claus. A forever home—and a best friend for life—could be the holiday wish that finally comes true for this special pup.
