Many years ago, I purchased a similar toy the hooked over the door itself. My cat quickly lost interest in the toy, and it went into the box of neglected cat toys. I think the cat got tired of hitting the door.
So when I was shopping for cat toys that didn't require human interaction, I saw this one and thought that for five bucks, it was worth a try. My cat played with the toy for a solid half hour the first time I put it up. I was initially worried he'd manage to pull the "hook" part off the door frame, but it held tight, despite his frenzied swatting, tugging, and batting. I'll be able to replace the elastic cording and the toy on the end as needed, and believe the frame hook will stayMany years ago, I purchased a similar toy the hooked over the door itself. Over the last 5 days, I've kept the toy on the door frame for 15 or so minutes a day while the cats actively play with it, and then remove it and store it to keep the experience "fresh" for the cats so they don't get bored of it. This is definitely a keeper-toy for my squad.… more
too short and missing protective end cap
on Dec 28, 2020
Firstly, mine came missing a rubber end cap that is meant to protect your molding/wall. It’s also much too short for my moldings (9’ ceilings, 8’ molding). My cats can’t even reach the mouse when hung. It’s just a Piece of elastic. They should send with a longer piece that you can’t cut to size. I felt like I totally teased my cats with this as they were excited to play with it but it simply doesn’t work in my house.
courage loves it

The one thing that I didn’t like about this toy is that it came in the color orange. I thought it would be white like in the picture. Not that big of a deal though because my kitty really loves this toy and spends the whole night playing. Nice toy to have if you’re busy and don’t always have the time to play.
Lot's of fun!

All my cats go crazy with this one. The only problem is you need to have moulding around your doors in order for it to properly work. I don't have door jams but I hung it off of their giant cat tree and it's all good!
Nigel's Favorite Cat Toy!
on Nov 9, 2020
Nigel is a one year-old rescue cat, who loves catching real mice, but he loves this toy just as much if not more. He's played hard with this over the door mouse for over two months and it hasn't broken! The mouse rattles and the elastic allows Nigel to pull the mouse quite far away and he can even lie on his back and chew on the mouse until it gets away from him and flies up into the air. Nigel plays with this toy for hours at a time. I'm getting another one for a backup in case this one breaks - or he chews all the fuzz off of this mouse!
Loved it too hard
on Nov 21, 2020
My cat LOVED this toy. He likes to pull these toys as hard and as far as he can to break them. I was thrilled when I saw this one had a little clip that would allow the toy to come apparent with enough pull and can still be put back together. However, after one weak of pressure, the clip broke. My cat is a giant beast though, so regular cats might not be able to break it.
4 Stars for effort.
its ok for the lazy one

my doorways are very tall so it was too short for them to use so i added a shoe string to it, it doesn't bounce much but my laziest cat will play with it once in awhile at 4am. My other cat wont play with it at all.
They LOVE it!

My two 5 year old cats are getting fat. I guess Covid stress is effecting them as well as us humans.
I get the toys every time I order from Chewy. Most end up in the box of misfit toys. Not this one. We put it up for an hour every day and they go nuts. I think the secret is the short time, they don't get bored with it.
She never tires of the bounce, and it actually stays put on the doorframe

For the price, I wasn't expecting much, but this toy is giving Sophie Cat a great workout, especially at night when she is in zoom-mode. About every 15 minutes she's at it. Surprisingly, it stays put on the doorframe.
Best $4 I ever spent

My cat is obsessed with this toy. It's such a simple design and he likes it more than other more expensive interactive toys I've gotten. If the door to the room that has this hanging in the doorway is ever closed he freaks out and jumps against the door to try to get it. He's 12 lbs and plays pretty rough and I haven't had any trouble with the mouse attachment coming off. 10/10 would recommend
