We struggle with Minnie every single day when it comes to food. We try to give her her medication and her meals, but she curls her tongue and refuses to eat. We’ve even had to firmly open her mouth to feed her, and the only thing she eats well is small amount of vegitable But renal food is absolutely essential, and we cannot replace it with anything else. Minine must eat renal food. We bought so many different brands, but she rejected almost all of them. Then we came across a brand we had never even heard of Farmina Vet Life Renal Wet Food. We bought a box, honestly thinking it probably wouldn’t work either. But, oh my God. Minine actually ate it. She didn’t curl her tongue, she accepted the food, and she ate it on her own. We purchased it after reading reviews from other dog parents who were dealing with the same struggle, and I’m so grateful. I’m leaving this review so that others who are going through the same thing can find hope too

I did a fair amount of research after a friend recommended this food and my dog's values improved, after a year on Hill's did nothing. After learning more about ingredients you really want your dog to have, especially on a somewhat limited RX diet, Farmina is top tier. Highly recommend. I do wish their tops were easier to open and it was slightly more affordable, but very much still worth it.

My senior stage 3 ckd cavalier is very picky and has tried probably 10 different foods and will eat this food every night. It’s the only renal food that isn’t over smelly, but it does have a slight beefier smell that my cat hounds over. It isn’t slimy and soupy, more of a refried bean texture, which I think she prefers. This with her Naraquin binder and fluids, she went from barely going down the block to a vivacious little monster sprinting up stairs again so keep going in trial and error!

Dalmatian in renal failure

Our girl is still playful. We feed a variety of renal to keep her interested. This is an on and off favorite. Smells fishy. We are happy when she eats a can.

My older gentleman loves the taste of this renal food! It is a soft pate and easy for him to eat too.

My Dog Likes the Smell & Oily Texture

My dog likes this food the best out of all the kidney support foods I've tried (5-6 different brands) and my homemade food. I think the strong smell and oily aspect draws her into eat the food. As long as she eats it and it's provides her nutrition, I don't care about the smell or texture. Keep on doing what you're doing Farmina Vet.

She ate it

She is eating it very well. This is huge as she had been losing weight and papillons don’t have much weight to spare.
