I've had this cage for a couple of years now and I still love it. Reasons my cat loves it: she loves how comfortable the shelves are, she's not a small cat and the shelves don't budge when she jumps on them, her litter box is at the bottom but it's big enough that she doesn't have to get in her litter box to jump to the shelves, the top of this cage is nice and big and she can sleep on that too. Reasons I love it: the cushions on the shelves are easily removable and machine washable, the shelves can be rearranged, it collapses into a fairly small space, and the removable pan at the bottom is perfect if you have a litter box in the bottom. It has been through four moves with me and during those moves I would collapse it and use it to roll boxes back and forth because it is so sturdy. It's a little difficult to collapse and assemble, but it's really not that bad and worth it because of the stability.
I rarely write reviews, but my cats really like this so I figured I would. I bought this in case we need to bring the outside cat in during winter nights, and I was worried my heavy indoor cats would break it but it’s still standing and they’ve all tried it out. I like the double doors so you don’t have to bend down. I like that I can store it under my couch. The cats love the pillow tops for the shelves. I may add a few zip ties when the outdoor cat gets in it. The litter box it comes with is a little big, but it does fit in the corner. Overall, it seems as sturdy as our normal small cage so I’m happy with the purchase.
I purchased this to safely contain my 3 kittens (2 and 3 months old). They love it and it does provide a safe place for them to be when I am not available. The cushions for the shelves can be washed and reattach easily. I also attached an extra large dog crate (the back side of it folds down and leaving the door part of the crate in front) for extra space. They now have plenty of room to play and to keep their litter box away from their sleeping area. Note I used zip ties to keep the bottom doors to the playpen open and keep the top doors closed - then used zip ties to fit the extra large dog crate snug against the playpen so they can't get through. Because the play pen is on rollers, the dog crate side that I left down slides perfectly under the playpen making the hole thing very secure.
I have the 2nd one in my Chewy cart right now. I bought this one last year for my two bengal kittens. Now they are grown but still love it. Purchasing a second one to give them some extra room while I am at work. Added a hammock, covered the litter box with a modified plastic tote, wall mounted food/water bowls, and a covered bed. Caidy loves it as you can see. A good purchase for us.
I recently purchased the Frisco cat play pen. Put it together with help of friend--needs two people. Added zip-ties as others recommended---necessary. So far so good. Allows me to have coffee on my tiny patio without being distracted by my escape-artist indoor cat. She seems to like it fine for bird-watching and the breeze in her whiskers. I only have her in there when I am out there. Seems solid and stable. We'll see how it endures. Covering at night with a tarp.
This cage provides ample space for the cost. An absolute value. Love that the shelf fabric is easy to remove and wash. The wire is of a good gauge. Plenty of room for a litter box too. Looking forward to the next bunch of fosters.
We have ordered 2 of these cages from. Overall, they are OK, but I have 2 issues with them. 1. Double locks! Really!?! Double locks on double doors is double ridiculous. With all the options there are for closures, this was what you came up with? It should be 1 lock for both doors on same level, not up-down. And that little twist of wire for a handle is infuriating, My hands are usually wet because I was food and water bowls as I go. You couldn't put a knob on there? 2. Apparently, no one took any measurements of litter pans when this cage was designed and you cannot get an extra large litter pan in or out without opening both doors. Just another bar width on each side would have been sufficient. Only need to open 1 door then, or put 1 door on it that is wider than a single door now.
This kennel is pretty big and have multiple sturdy shelves for my kitten to play on and enough room for a litter box at the bottom. Just what we needed.
I am very pleased with this purchase. I wanted a large enclosure for a cat that I was adopting as my husband doesn't share my love for indoor pets. She would be in it at night and during the day when I wasn't around to supervise her antics. I wanted one that would feel like her home and not a jail cell. I am happy to say that when she is ready for a nap, she voluntarily goes into her enclosure. Some of the reviews complained about the shelves tipping the first time their cat jumped onto one. That's because they didn't install them properly and not a design defect. I was able to assemble it myself with no problems, using the diagram that came with it and the on line video. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. I looked at a number of cat enclosures and read many reviews before deciding on this one. Thank you for making a quality product available for a reasonable price. Both my new cat and I are very happy with this purchase.
I got this to keep foster kittens and so far I really like it. I like that the tray can slide out for easy cleaning. Love that it’s on wheels. The doors open really smooth and nice. Wasn’t expecting much for the price, but I’m really pleased! Fits a standard litter box and cat bed on the bottom and the kitties love hanging out on the shelves. I also added a kitty hammock and they love that. I leave the doors open most of the time, but they end up sleeping in it often.
