I have tried so many different types of brushes for our short-haired but densely-coated rescue mix; the gloves, the rubber tipped, the ones that look like tiny saw blades, the loop one, the one with the wooden handle, the one that looks like a dang rototiller and nothing was doing a truly effective job...(big announcer voice:) UNTIL NOW! For real, this one works beautifully, she loves the process and most of the fur stays on the brush until I pull it off in one fuzzy caterpillar-looking strip. I would previously sweep up snow-drifts of fur on a daily basis; now I can get away with sweeping weekly without worrying that the rogue fur would become sentient and try to take over.
I got this for George, my 69 pound Black Labrador and Plott Hound mix who happens to have very short and slick black fur…he doesn’t have the double coat of a Labrador, but yet he still sheds like crazy. I purchased the Large brush for Short/Medium hair/fur and it works as well as the brand name Furminator that I had years ago. Just please be careful and follow the directions so that you don’t harm your fur baby’s skin! George enjoys having his back stroked with the brush, but did give me side eye when it came to doing his legs and head, but he’s a wash and wear type dog , so I don’t exactly have to brush him very often. It’s a wonderful tool, does exactly what it’s supposed to do for a fair price!
Durable, easy to use and efficient. I have 2 short to medium haired tabbies & this has worked perfectly on them. I like that it's not sharp and won't irritate their skin. I recommend (:
I have purchased about 18 different brushes. I have used this for 3 days. This is the ONLY brush/de shedder I’ll ever own. The only one I’ll EVER need! The picture shows a large handful. My shepherds love it! It’s like getting scratches on the butt. We all know how much they love that. I highly highly recommend. 10 stars!
I live with 1English bulldog and 3cats. So much fur! My dog loves being combed with this so much, he gives me the high 5 paw every time I pause-he wants more! The cats aren’t as fond of it, especially the oldest one, but it works like a charm!
I am really sorry to give this review, because I so wanted to like it. I have been on a quest to find a brush that my orange tabby tolerates and actually works to take off excess hair. This brush barely got off even a couple hairs.
I bought this brush for my Beagle-Bulldog hoping to help control hair shedding. Works great! Amazing how much hair it collects and removes. Very strong and durable. I would purchase this again.
We have 2 long hair mini dachshunds and two cats with normal length hair and this works on all the lengths and hair types. Our one doxie has hair like wool on her belly and it brushes it so nicely too. Our dogs hate being brushed but the one loves this brush every time and the other one tolerates it about half the time. Both cats like it, the one tries to rub his face on it because he likes how it scratches him. I've also found that it works great for pulling up the cat hair on their trees to clean them. You will not regret buying this!
It works really great, usually my dog doesn’t like to be combed but he becomes so relaxed and he lets me do it. His coat looks amazing and I can’t believe what comes out without much effort.
I bought this deshedding tool for a dog that has thick, long fur. It just glides over the top without digging into the fur at all. It may work for a dog with fur that is finer than my dog's....or maybe a cat?
