Best value ever
I've been using these scratchers for years. My cats love them. I bought the cardboard inclines with the scratchers years ago and now just replace the scratchers. They're a good value because you can flip them upside down when one end gets used up, then turn them over to use the other side. I have 5 cats, all with claws, and they last forever. If they're a little too wide for the holder you have, as they are for mine, they're very easy to trim down.
My cat uses this thing almost daily and never claws my furniture. I recently read that cats can't resist getting onto squares & rectangles & that seems to be the case. When I 1st got one of these for her, she slept on it for days. She uses it often, mostly ignores other scratchers. The enclosed catnip didn't look fresh. I sprinkled my own on instead. Both sides are usable. If she uses it a lot, I know it's time to trim her claws. I will never again have a cat without having one of these scratchers.
Great floor Scratchers
These are the best and most durable floor scratchers I have purchased. My cats love them, and our male cat really goes puts plenty of scratching energy into the scratchers and he has huge claws. He gives it his all and these scratchers hold up! I definitely plan to continue reordering. Plus, the catnip that comes with the scratchers is very carefully glued on with just the barest amount of glue. Other scratchers I have purchased use so much it is right in the path of the cats scratching and they hate the tacky feeling of that other products glue.
give them time
hopefully some cat owners can relate to the cats that are slow to understanding change, my boy loved them immediately but just to lay on and bite the corners. we put the two pieces on the carpet in our apartment in the spots he’s was most interested in digging his nails into with a little catnip and by day two he dug his nails right in and LOVED it. i was a proud mother today, would definitely purchase again.
Only thing our cat likes to scratch!
Furniture saver. Our adopted young stray prefers these corrugated scratchers to the tall upright sisal scratchers. Makes a bit of a mess with bits of cardboard but keeps everybody happy.
Great for saving the furniture
My cat loves this scratcher, and uses it many times during the day. Unfortunately, she likes it too much, and really tears it up quickly. But it is better than my couch or arm chair. I highly recommend it, and the price is right, also!
What a great purchase price. I bought four double packs of these. Should last me a while. Even though they do shred quite easily, I still think they are a great purchased . I think you need the old boxes to insert the pads into which I already had, otherwise they don't last on the corners and they make a real mess. But as far as my purchase I am happy as can be. And so are my kitties.
Falls apart quickly..
These are vey coarse grain. Our cat goes through a cardboard scratcher about once every 2-3 months; but he has completely destroyed these both in a matter of weeks, leaving scatterings of cardboard all over the house, caught in the carpets and blankets. Wouldn't recommend if you have a vigorous scratcher.
My cats absolutely destroy these cardboard scratchers with use. The exterior box is still in good condition, so I'm glad I can get replacement inserts. Wouldn't be without them.
I have 2 cats. one of them ignores the scratcher - I have to trim her nails often. The other cat heads for the scratcher at last once a day - pedicures are less frequent for him. And this is without applying the catnip!
