I've bought 2 of these in the past year and neither had an offense odor. This time I bought 3 x-large and I could smell the chemicals before taking them out of the plastic wrapping(s). I will try leaving them outside for a few days to see if that helps. The smell is so bad that I can't even air these out indoors because I'm getting a really bad nausea headache. Hopefully the smell will go away. I really want to keep these because they do help for trapping litter.
My kitty is a digger so there was litter everywhere. I didn’t think a litter mat would make a big difference so got by with a pan and brush. But her new light litter was tracking everywhere so I gave this a shot. It’s cheaper than other mats but it does a great job! There’s barely any in the bathroom now so much less cleanup.
Works for me! Bought one 5-6 years ago & needed to replace it. Got the same mat as I liked the first one. Watch lifting the edge to vacuum or clean under it as that edge will start to turn up and is a tripping hazard for old pelple like me.
