Rips too easily

The mats are pretty and have a great lip edge to contain spills But I had to throw one away a few months ago that sat under the water bowl because it got a tear in it and I was afraid water would get on my wood floor. I just found a tear in the second one that dry food sits on. It shouldn't be a real problem since it is under dry food But I just don't understand why they tear. They are seldom moved and nothing sharp or heavy has ever sat on them. I feel like if they are for use with pets they should be stronger.

Mat Making Mess

This is the second one of these mats that I have purchased, and the last. The first one was in the gray color, and there was a small hole in the corner, but I kept it and used it since the hole was not located near my kittos’ bowls. However, the mats are so thin, that water from their bowl would actually bleed through the mat, leaving a small puddle on the floor underneath the mat, right where their water bowl sits at on the mat. There was no water anywhere else on the mat or floor, except near the water bowl, so I knew the water was bleeding through the mat. I still continued to use the mat for a while, but finally grew tired of cleaning the puddles. I thought that maybe I had received a “defective” mat, so I decided to try the light blue mat. It is so thin, you can see the floor through it, and once again, I am cleaning puddles of water from my floor because the water bleeds right through it. My kittos do not turn the water bowl over, or take baths in it (lol), but sometimes if the bowl has just been filled, and when they go to lap it up, they will push a small amount of water over the edge. So just that small amount, bleeds through the mat and puddles onto the floor underneath the mat, which defeats the purpose of even having a mat, an expensive one at that. Hope this helps.

Fits my cat’s water & food bowls & a scratcher for her to sit on. It’s easy to wipe down with a sponge or rinse off in the tub. It has also contained all water spills which is the main reason I bought it.

Our kittens spilled their water and all of it stayed on the mat. Works great. Looks great, too.

Cats Can Be Neat and Messy

This food mat is great. Catches little crumbs. Easy to clean. Nice and big.

Silicone Mat

This mat is great! It's perfect for the cats food and water, and the best thing is that it's so easy to clean. I just wash it in the sink with soap and water! Thank you Chewy!

Perfect size

The mat itself, is flexible and looks to be good quality. I like that it is silicone, which means it remains snug and flat on the floor, no sneaky upturned edges to unintentionally bump into and flip the bowl. The mat does have a raised edge that creates a barrier in case water does spill onto the mat; it doesn't have an opportunity to reach the floor. f you have a baby that likes to push his/her bowl and really splash a lot of water this may not be good. There is no lip on the mat to really hold a big spill but just a little water here and there easily stays put and is quickly cleaned up with a towel of any kind. Super easy to clean. Looks very nice and protects the floor.

MAKES FOR EASY CLEANUP

This is easy to wipe, rinse and dry. It is lightweight and flexible. I chose this to keep messes off of my hardwood floor. My cat sometimes likes to pull her dry cat food out of her dish and onto the floor before she eats it and occasionally drops bits of canned food. This makes cleanup much easier.

Tidy!

I put both the water and food bowl on top of the silicone mat now and it keeps the area tidy. It also holds the bowls in place. Sometimes when he would eat the bowl would be sliding across the tile trying to shape it up. This prevents that from happening. He also drinks kind of messy sometimes with his mouth dripping with water all over the place. Now the mat catches most of it. It is very easy to clean in the sink and wipe down.

Happy with purchase

My dog is a big pitbull mix, and he is a pretty messy eater and drinker. It doesn't matter if I give him food in a bowl or on a plate, it was always ending up on the floor! So I looked for a placemat that would be good quality. This one is large enough to fit his water bowl and both his dry food bowl and wet food plate without crowding. The food stays on the mat until I clean it up. I am happy with this purchase.
