Is it sturdy enough to keep a very strong dog from pushing it over?

Use the wall cups for stability and safety. Wall cups and assembly hardware are included and install according to assembly instructions. Never leave the pet unattended and monitor while in use.

Is this a walkthrough without taking it down? I need to be able to go between my patio and garage man door

This gate features a convenient walk-through design with a one-touch top release safety lock, and a 2-step safety latch on the bottom.

I have baseboards on the walls and entrance to the room where I want to put the gate, can I (should I) mount it to the wall just above the baseboard? The baseboard is not vertical. If I do, no part of the gate will be resting on the floor.

This gate can be installed where there is a baseboard. Adjust each threaded spindle rod as needed.

Is it plausible to install the gate off the floor (say with 6" space underneath) to allow cats under but not large dogs?

While it is recommended to install gate against the floor, it may be install slightly above for required access. As this gate features a bottom rail, you'll need to step over the railing when walking through.

TWO gates broken

I could not be more frustrated with this gate. In the assembly video, it shows taking out the bottom peg with a flat head scrwdriver and it WOULD NOT budge. I broke

I could not be more frustrated with this gate. In the assembly video, it shows taking out the bottom peg with a flat head scrwdriver and it WOULD NOT budge. I broke both sides trying to get them out. (I was trying to get them out in order to add the extensions). I contacted support and they ordered me another gate for free, AND I ordered the 2 broken parts (still stuck in the gate) from the manufacturer’s website. Second gate arrived, SAME PROBLEM. I was more careful but still the bottom pegs will not budge. So now I have 2 useless gates because I needed to add the extensions in order for it to fit and be useful.

I was hesitant to buy this because I like my dogs having full roam of their house, but the purpose of the gate was to allow me to walk in the front door without being jumped on and pushed from them being excited that I was home. The gate is strong and sturdy enough and tall enough to hold my hundred pound Lab back, and I’m able to get in the door safely and not be knocked over or have my drinks spilled or my groceries dropped out of my hand. I love that it is so easy to put up and take down whenever I have to leave the house.

I have three special needs dogs ranging in size from 60-130 lbs and I recently adopted two tiny kittens from the humane society. Every doorway threshold now has one of these gates to help keep everyone separated and safe during socialization and while the kittens grow. One person can easily assemble and install these gates. They open/close in both directions and are easy to remove if needed. I could not find a similar quality gate at a better price. I do wish there was a small pet gate feature, (a small door for cat ingress/egress).

Easy to install, looks good, operates well (love that the door stays open). However my 37 lb husky mix has managed to open the gate by pushing at it repeatedly, and currently only keeps her contained if I jerry-rig the included extender across the door frame so she can't push the door out of the cups on the frame. Special case, but at least we currently have a solution! So thanks for the extender :D

I was concerned our Coco would try to jump over this gate but, nope. It’s very sturdy and perfect as a temporary solution for separating visiting pups, Coco being one of the visitors, 2 pit mix cousins and 2 Cane Corsos who actually live in the house. Hoomans are able to open, close, and lock the gate easily. There are extra locking knobs on the bottom, but for our purposes the main latch is sufficient.

It is a bit of a pain pushing it far enough back to stay open. Can only do it in one direction. Because of where my door is. I recommend it tho.

Well Designed Mechanics

So glad I settled on this gate after researching dozens. If you get it installed perfectly level the gate will stay open when needed and will latch itself by closing

So glad I settled on this gate after researching dozens. If you get it installed perfectly level the gate will stay open when needed and will latch itself by closing with only a slight nudge. I found because it the closure I really don't need to used the stoppers at the bottom available for both sides depending on which way you prefer the gate to open. It's perfect for keeping my indoor cat from going out after dark so she can see & smell the outdoors when in the garage with me. However, my more feral cat that sleeps in my garage at night figured out she can jump over this 41 inch high gate, to my shocking amazement. I knew cats could jump, is why I bought the higher gate, but never expected that high. I may need to order another gate to stack on top of this one, as I saw in another customer's review. But, I still highly recommend this great quality, easy to install & to operate gate.

i used this in my apartment (without the screws to not cause wall damage) and it’s feeling very sturdy. however i’m using it to prevent my rabbits from going into

i used this in my apartment (without the screws to not cause wall damage) and it’s feeling very sturdy. however i’m using it to prevent my rabbits from going into my room, so nothing big is pushing on it. only my littlest bunny can squeeze through the biggest gap in the gate, but i secured a spare metal grid piece that i had to the bottom of the gate so she can’t fit anymore. works great for what i need!

Perfect for my needs!

This gate was easy to install and is exactly what I needed. I have a recently adopted young (energetic!) Pitbull who was terrorizing my cat. I installed this gate

This gate was easy to install and is exactly what I needed. I have a recently adopted young (energetic!) Pitbull who was terrorizing my cat. I installed this gate in my hallway to keep them separated. The auto close feature is exactly what I needed, since - no matter how careful you are - gates sometimes get accidentally left open. After the pup got a faceful of claws, and the cat hid under my bed for an hour, they are now kept safely apart. This was worth every penny of the reasonable cost.
