Learn More About Frontline Plus From Our Team of Experts

Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 90 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

Fast-Acting, Long-Lasting Protection

Frontline Plus is formulated with two active ingredients that kill fleas and ticks and prevent new flea infestations from developing. It’s waterproof 24 hours after application, lasts for a full 30 days, and comes in formulas for cats or dogs.

Easy One-Spot Topical Application

Frontline Plus is a spot-on solution that’s available without a prescription. 1 dose = 30 days of protection.

Protects Your Pet

  • Starts killing fleas and ticks fast and protects against reinfestation.
  • Waterproof for a full 30 days starting 24 hours after application.
  • Monthly dosing keeps your dog protected for every season.

How to Apply

Follow these simple steps for application:

  1. Hold upright with foil side toward you and snap applicator tip.
  2. Part hair and apply on shoulder blades, completely emptying the pipette.
  3. Leave the solution to spread through your pet's coat.

About Frontline Plus

To ensure your dog stays protected from fleas and ticks all year round, treat them monthly with Frontline Plus. This simple, easy, one-spot topical solution helps keep your pet free from infestations, providing you with peace of mind.

If my dog fluctuates between 44-45 lbs - is it better to give her the Medium or Large dose?

What is the difference between Frontline Gold and Frontline Plus?

Answer by ChewyJun 03, 2020
Both products are effective against ticks, fleas, and lice in both immature and adult versions. The only difference is that Frontline Gold kills fleas faster than Frontline Plus does. Frontline Gold has added a powerful third ingredient, pyriproxyfen which helps to kill the next generation of flea eggs and larvae before they can develop in to adult fleas. Both products require monthly applications and are safe to use in all dogs and puppies above 8 weeks of age.

Does Frontline contain Isoxazoline?

Answer by ChewyMay 25, 2020
This flea and tick treatment does not contain Isoxazoline. For a complete ingredient list, click on the 'Ingredients' tab, just under the product photos.

After applying topically to the dog, is it safe for humans to have skin to skin contact with the dog. If not, how long should one avoid touching the dog where the medication was applied?

Answer by ChewyMar 25, 2024
It is recommended that you allow 24 hours for the solution to dry.

We've used Frontline + for years and has always worked for our dogs. Unfortunately, we live in a rural area and the Fedex driver did not deliver at our house, but instead left it in a US mail rural mailbox 1/2 miles from our house. It is illegal to put deliveries in US mail boxes othger that USPS, but they did it anyway.

Isn't working!

My family has always sworn by Frontline. However, this year, no matter what I do, I can't get rid of the fleas. To the point that my dog and one cat are half bald from scratching. I figured by month 2, I would see an improvement. I used flea shampoo and conditioner, Frontline and steam scrubbed my carpets more than once. Nothing seems to deter these fleas this year! I didn't have any until my daughter brought over her two dog, which she claimed just had allergies, but I suspected fleas.

I have been using this for a long time but I put it on him several days ago and last night I found 3 fleas on him. I had a vet appointment today and she told me this no longer works on fleas...only ticks. So now I have waisted $50.00. Not happy about that. Had to buy a different flea treatment for him.

Fed Ex sucks on handling packages.

I have not received one package from FedEx express that didn’t have some damage to the packaging. Minor damage to the product containers occurred at but no damage

No Ticks

I’ve been using this stuff for 20 years and it’s always worked just fine. Our current dog is outside a lot (cattle dog mix) and I haven’t found a tick on her yet

Veterinary told us they are seeing fleas with a resistance. Product did not yield desired results. We will have to purchase additional/alternative product. Yes we did an entire house cleanse, treat and launder as well at dog application. We also purchased Frontline for our cats, results left us exhausted and aquiring additional costs. We will not be purchasing this brand again.
