How long will it take to soaking to stop tannims form changing my water color

If you can, boil your driftwood for at least an hour and let it cool. If your driftwood is too large to boil, submerge it in a bucket with a 5% Bleach solution for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse very well and let it soak in bleach-free water for at least a day to be sure that any remnants of the bleach have dissipated.

I bought this product and it did not sink and do I have to do anything to it before I put it in the tank if I don't want to

The Driftwood normally takes around 1 to 2 weeks to absorb enough water to weigh itself down. You can use other decor or bury the wood in the substrate to help hold it down for the meantime. It is recommend rinsing off and cleaning the wood before putting it in the tank so that any dust or foreign material is removed. We also recommend soaking it to remove natural tannins in the wood. The tannins do not harm anything but they will dye the water a tea color.

Its great but the packaging was not.

The driftwood was exactly as needed but part of my order was cat litter in a bag which was not protected in anyway from the driftwood so lost half the littler because

I got 2 and I immediately got them into a tank with mystery snails. They floated at first and within 4 days were all but fully sunken. The snails helped season it

Not sinkable

It states it is a sinkable piece of wood, but I have to have a rock sitting on top of it in order for it to sitat the bottom of my tank otherwise it just floats

Not close to what’s pictured

I know that this wasn’t going to match exactly what’s in the picture, but it’s not even close. There’s nothing interesting or unique about it. It’s just a plain

Not what I expected

I guess I should have read the reviews before I spent $28 on a piece of wood for my snake enclosure. When I got the piece it did not look anything like the one advertised
