Originally bought a very basic seed mix from the store which has lots of corn. I have zero birds here that eat corn and also zero squirrels to clean up so everything else was eaten and the corn was flung around for my hound to find and then puke up later. I could not be happier with this brand. It smells very good and fresh, has no corn, and the birds love it!! I have house finches, titmice, chickadees, wrens, and then just one cardinal couple. I wish I could upload a video, it’s like a grand opening of a hip new restaurant over here :D Got 3 different bags of this brand for variety and they’re all great. Highly recommend.
I hadn't ordered birdseed from Chewy before, but was already placing an order and added this to my cart. I am SOOO glad I did, and now I will buy more Harvest seeds! As soon as I started using this in my bird feeders and suet cakes, I started getting so many birds it was CREEPY outside. The cats and dogs love to watch them, and suet cakes especially go fast! I make my own suet cakes by melting 1 c lard and 1 c chunky peanut butter in a large saucepan, then add that to a huge bowl with 1 c flour, 1/2 c sugar, 2 c corn meal, 1 1/2 c quaker oats and then 1/2 to 1 1/2 c of this birdseed. Pour into a large flat casserole like where you make brownies, then refrigerate until solid. Then I cut it into squares to fit suet feeders and put them in freezer bags to freeze for later. When I use this in suet cakes, the cakes are gone in HOURS. They love it! Much different from the ones without this birdseed mix. I will keep coming back for this!
