How many cups of dry dog food are in a 27.5 pound bag of hills science i/d? (I use 4 cups a day, I need to determine how often to set up the automatic delivery.)

Answer by ChewyJan 09, 2018
There's approximately 34 cups of food in the 8.5 pound bag, 70.4 cups of food in the 17.6 pound bag, and 110 cups of food in the 27.5 pound bag.

What by chicken by product meal is in your dog food?

Answer by ChewySep 30, 2019
Meat by-products are composed of nutrient-dense organ meats. They are rich in protein and amino acids to help strengthen and maintain your pet’s muscles. Also, because of their nutrient-rich composition, they are typically the first thing an animal would eat in the wild. Meat by-products do not include animal parts such as feathers, horns, beaks, teeth or hooves

Our veterinarian initially prescribed Hill’s RX Diet Weight Reduction Dog Food for our 11-year-old Boxer, Izzy, to help her maintain her weight after surgery limited her activity level. Over the past year, Izzy has lost about 9 pounds and has successfully maintained that weight. Given her age and decreased activity as an older dog, our veterinarian has recommended that we continue feeding her this dog food. Izzy seems to enjoy it, and we are pleased with the positive impact it has had on her quality of life.

My hound dog was put on this food by her vet for Inflammatory Bowel Disease. It seemed to be helping initially for the first few months, but then recently she started vomiting the food and turning her nose up, refusing to eat it. She had episodes of diarrhea and lethargy. I found out Hill’s Science Diet changed the formula and added PECAN SHELLS to the food most likely as filler. What human or dog should eat pecan shells? Shame on Hill’s for putting our pets at risk and not informing pet owners or veterinarians of a formula change. The company should be sued! I’ve switched my dog to another brand so hopefully she will recover.

Like others in the comments, my dog experienced gastrointestinal upset multiple times in the past two months before we realized the food was culprit. My dog has been on this food for four years without issue and this most recent batch purchased in October has led to three separate vet visits and lots of bills. Extremely disappointed by Hill's Science lack of communication about the recipe change, but always impressed by Chewy's customer service as usual.

Our loved Billy has been 6 years on special diets. We used another brand, also very good. But this year he was showing an inflammation in the pancreas. Vet decided he needed low fat content. We switch to Hills low fat, which also helps with the bladder stones. Billy had improved a lot! I always get Billy’s food with Chewy, who has an excellent customer service, good price and arrives super fast!!!
