Is this low fat adult?

Answer by JetsetkevvvAug 27, 2022
Yes

What are the recommended feeding amounts by dog body wait?

Do you feed your dog this right out of the can or do you microwave it first, my vet mentioned microwaving it?

Answer by ChewyJun 21, 2021
Warming the food or adding warm water brings out the aroma and flavor of the food, increasing the appeal to the pet. Warm the canned or dry product to, but not above, body temperature - this can be done by warming for a few (3-5) seconds in the microwave. When microwaving the food, please cover with a microwave safe lid or microwave safe plastic wrap. Before serving the food, it is important to stir the food to ensure there are no hot spots to cause harm to the pet.

How long can this be refridgerated after opening?

Answer by ChewyJan 17, 2021
After opening, canned products should be covered and stored in a refrigerator at 40 to 45 degrees Fahrenheit. In general, refrigerated canned foods should be used within five to seven days after opening. Canned products with high amounts of rice often have separation of water from the other canned product (free water will be seen at the bottom or around the side of the can) within a few days. This separation of water is called syneresis and does not change the nutritional characteristics of the food, but will affect food texture and possibly palatability. Since freezing dramatically changes the texture of canned products and adversely affects palatability, freezing canned pet food is not recommended either before or after opening.

Much better!

My dog was so sick from another brand of food and the vet suggested Hills Prescription Diet I/d, while he recovers. He had severe GI problems, non stop for 3 days. Now, after a week on this food he is slowly getting better. He loved it and he is usually a very picky eater. Since he has lost 14 teeth (Parti yorkie bad teeth), I chose the pate. It is the first food that actually smells good and he can eat it. I’m sold!

Confused because I purchased this specifically because it was a stew that had square meat. Now this year I tried purchasing it again and it looks like mush? It looks like mud, my dog won’t even go near it! I cannot believe they would do that without telling us, especially to a prescription diet.

I had ordered some wet puppy food. Chewy emailed me and said I needed a new Rx. I called my vet and they said that the Rx was correct. I called chewy and it was my fault I had tried to order but it was not what the vet had prescribed. Chewy had walked me through what I needed and sent it out that day

Must taste really good!

My Rottweiler has a sensitive stomach and was getting very mushy poo, and diarrhea. My vet put her on the Hill’s I/D dry food, and she was getting pretty consistent solid poo. She would not eat her food in one trip to the bowl when she was fed in the mornings. She would come back several times in the next few hours, and the food would eventually be finished. Didn’t have this issue as much during evening feedings. Since the food did help with the bowel movements, we didn’t want to change to another type. I decided to get a case of the wet Hill’s I/D food, and supplement the dry food with a quarter can each meal. Rosie loves her food now and finishes the entire meal in one trip to the bowl. Bowel movements are much more regular and still remain mostly solid. And the fact she is excited again to get her meals is great!

We've been using this food for a few years, and the last case of food had a totally different look and smell. I noticed the new cans have a new logo that touts "activebiome digestion". I called Hill's to complain that it doesnt have the same smell, look, or taste. My pet is not liking it. She eventually eats it, and her digestion doesnt seem impacted. So I guess its doing the job, but I told Hill's that my dog is unhappy. I hope over time she'll get used to it. Or, we'll need to find something else.

Quality control

I found that there isn’t consistency in the batches. Some months it’s runny and other times it’s very thick and I have to add liquid to it.

My puppy loved it!

My dog was diagnosed with Pancriatitis he did not want to eat the big can pate option at all. I offered him this option and he ate it without hesitation.
