How many cups of dry dog food are in a 27.5 pound bag of hills science i/d? (I use 4 cups a day, I need to determine how often to set up the automatic delivery.)
Answer by ChewyJan 09, 2018
There's approximately 34 cups of food in the 8.5 pound bag, 70.4 cups of food in the 17.6 pound bag, and 110 cups of food in the 27.5 pound bag.

What by chicken by product meal is in your dog food?
Answer by ChewySep 30, 2019
Meat by-products are composed of nutrient-dense organ meats. They are rich in protein and amino acids to help strengthen and maintain your pet’s muscles. Also, because of their nutrient-rich composition, they are typically the first thing an animal would eat in the wild. Meat by-products do not include animal parts such as feathers, horns, beaks, teeth or hooves

Does the job! Puking has ceased.

My Texas Heeler dog had a two-week bout of vomiting (following some pork-based dog treats). I tried the boiled chicken and rice diet, small meals, etc., but to no avail. We finally took him to the vet for extensive testing and anti-nausea medication (cerenia). They found no pancreatitis, no foreign bodies, no other obvious issues. The vet hypothesized that my dog just has a really sensitive GI tract, and prescribed the wet and dry version of this food. We use half-and-half canned and dry food. He likes this food, and is able to keep it down just fine. Of course he likes the canned version of I/D the best, but this kibble is tasty enough to chow down when he's hungry. It's expensive, but much better than having a sick dog. I'm hoping to ultimately switch him back to his regular Science diet food, but I think it will take another 3-6 months.

brought my boy back to puppy status at 11 yrs old

I bought this food after my 11 year old yorkie was rushed to the emergency vet for his second round of pancreatitis. He’s NEVER been so excited about food, he has SO much more energy, his stomach took really well to the transition and he’s back to his regular bowel movements. He even eats this food dry, which is crazy for his boujee taste buds. I was obviously weary of the price at first just hoping that he liked it, but now that he’s full of life, I’d pay this a million times over. 5/5 stars!

Latest bag almost killed my dogs!

The most recent bag we got almost killed both of my toy poodles. One suffers from pancreatitis and has been on this prescription diet for the better part of a year with no issues. After receiving this new bag, within two days of feeding both dogs were severely bloated, on the third day they had no appetite and both dogs vomited mostly undigested food within 12 hours of each other, and both suffered severe diarrhea. Our girl with a history of pancreatitis immediately started exhibiting more signs of the same, including a significant amount of blood in her diarrhea. This was confirmed by our vet by testing her pancreas. Upon further digging I find random mention of new feeding guidelines which indicate changes to the formula but very little other information. Thankfully chewy is accepting this bag for a return/refund, but I'm still out a lot of money for vet visits all over a 'prescription' dog food that is very expensive to begin with. I won't be giving my dogs anything made by Hills again.

Good for our dog’s pancreatitis

We got our dog this food per the veterinarian after a diagnosis of pancreatitis. Before this, she had occasional trouble keeping other foods down and tried to bury her food bowl! Since being on Hills dry and canned food, she seems more comfortable and keeps her food in. And she loves it! Its higher cost is the only downside.

made my dog sick

This batch ordered mid August made my dog incredibly sick throwing up/ diarrhea. She now is having kidney issues. Please be cautious feeding to your fur baby she’s afraid to eat any food now and has lost so much weight!

The best food for pancreatitis!

My Cavalier King Charles is doing fantastic with this food! I add a little steamed vegetables, boiled chicken and broth to the bulk of this dry, and he gobbles it down. Not sure I even have to keep doing that. He had pancreatitis and so far this food is keeping him healthy. He is making regular healthy poops on it like never before. He is extremely picky too but gobbling this food up with joy! Hill’s created an awesome food here! We highly recommend this!

Hill’s Prescription Dog Food

My dog was just diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency so had to switch her to a low fat diet. Was concerned that she wouldn’t like the Hill’s low fat dog food but she absolutely loves it. I would recommend this to anyone who needs to have their dog on a low fat diet due to health issues.
