The best stuff

Our dog was having kidney issues on top of not wanting to eat. This food completely rejuvenated him. No more accidents in the house and his weight is back to normal. We have to mix it with the wet food but he loves both. I feel like it's adding years to his life.

Prompt Delivery!

My dog has kidney issues and he eats this prescription diet. The vet did not have any in stock and dog not know when they were getting any. I was panicking and they suggested to contact Chewy. I was so afraid that it would take days to process the prescriptionn and shipping. I placed the order with Chewy on Monday afternoon and received the delivery on Wednesday afternoon!! I am so relieved.

Barely-Improved "New Formula"

In Hills PD - Kidney Care K/d's "New Formula"— ONLY 2 ingredients were added: "soybean meal" (and) "calcium sulfate". 1 vitamin was eliminated: L-Arginine. 2 former ingredients were simply switched from: "pork fat" to "chicken fat" (and) "chicken liver flavor" to "hydrolyzed chicken flavor". Whereas, the rest of the ingredients are exactly the same as their "current" formula. I find this kind of advertising to be very misleading. Comparing the ingredients to that of Blue's Natural (Kidney Care) ingredients list, I've decided to make the switch. There's no need to have a filler like corn "gluten" meal and (fake) flavors in food that is supposedly advertised as "Healthy" for our four-legged family members. No thank you!

She Loves It!

My dog loves this and she is very picky. The first Kidney Care food we put her on she hated. This one, she gobbles it up.

Dog refuses to eat this food

Was recommended by my vet for our old guy that is in beginning of kidney failure. He hates it! I can not get him to eat any of it. Even mixed with his regular food he won’t touch it. It is also way too big of kibble for toy sized breeds. I’m glad I tried a small bag of food first because it has been a total waste for us.

Hills Prescription Diet KD

My dog doesn't care for this at all. I started off with the chicken. She didn't like that, so I got the lamb and she doesn't like that either.

Great Choice!

Out dog Buddy was diagnosed with early kidney disease and he has severe allergies to any meat but lamb. I was so worried about getting him something he can eat. Our doctor suggested a few brands but none had a non chicken or beef option except this one. I did my research and also bought a book our doctor suggested and there are many healthy and safe KD non chicken and beef options. I personally mix either egg whites or sweet potatoes with the meal. I have to say though, it doesn't matter Buddy eats this up all on it's own. He really likes it. I make it a positive experience and he enjoys it. Our furbabies know when we arent happy, skeptical or negative so just give it a try even with some of the negative comments. Every dog is different like every human is. I got a small bag to try it, but definitely going to buy the bigger bag. Love it!

Special Diet - Dry Food

PRO: Dogs eat it, not expired, package intact, Chewy less expensive than my vet's. CON: Not really a con but I wish the dry foods have as much option as wet food in terms of different flavor. RECOMMENDATION: Chewy & Hill Kidney Care Dry Food recommended but also shop around for prices.
