Adjust feeding amounts as necessary to maintain optimal weight. If you are unsure, ask your veterinarian. For best results & safety practices: Gradually transition to your pet's new food over a 7 day period. Exclusively feed the recommended Prescription Diet dry food, canned food & treats. Keep fresh water available at all times. Have your veterinarian monitor your pet's condition.

Transition Instructions

Begin the transition by mixing both the current food and their new cat food together. Gradually decrease the amount of the current cat food while increasing the amount of new cat food. Continue to do this over a 7-day period. Transitioning slowly can result in fewer digestive issues and better acceptance of the new cat food. Mix 25% of the new food in with 75% of the current food for the first 2 days, then mix 50% new food with 50% existing food for the next 2 days, then mix 75% new food with 25% current food for the next 2 days. By day seven, you can feed your cat 100% new food.

Smaller bag, higher price, changed ingredients

My cat used the Joint Care j/d to successfully treat her arthritis for quite some time, and while it was very expensive for an 8.5 lb bag of dry food, I continued to buy it because she responded well to the formula. I was extremely disappointed that Hill's discontinued that product without notice (I would have stocked up) and now the Mobility k/d is the only option. It is the same price as the 8.5 lb bag (if not more) for a 6.35 lb bag, with less protein, more fat, and no chondroitin or glucosamine. I don't like that they combined the joint care with a kidney formula, as my cat does not have kidney issues. I am now going to have to cut the food with a non-prescription product just so I can afford My cat used the Joint Care j/d to successfully treat her arthritis for quite some time, and while it was very expensive for an 8.5 lb bag of dry food, I continued to buy it because she responded well to the formula. Thumbs down to Hill's for not communicating the change and increasing the cost per pound. I had called Chewy as soon as I received the notice that my order would not go through, and was disappointed that they did not know it was discontinued. Poor communication from Hills. … more

    Great for My Old Cat

    By on

My cat "Zippy" is almost 17 years old & is in fabulous condition. This dry food was recommended by my vet. "Zippy," who is a picky eater, loves it. It is good for kidney health & mobility as the cat ages. I highly recommend this food. Hope it helps your cat, too!

    $$$$ k/d dry kibble

    By on

OK, the Hills company knows we will do anything for pets and here is the perfect example. My k/d cats will eat this food but I am paying more pound for this cat food than I pay for anything, by the pound, on my own table. I am buying the product but I know this company is using my cat's illness to sell inexpensive food at a premium price. It doesn't make me love the company!

My new adopted kitty likes it!

    By on

I recently adopted an adult male kitty, Malik aka Ghost, from a shelter and had blood-work done by my personal vet and found out he has kidney disease but since I already have a 17yr old kitty, Sasha, which also has the same issue I know what to give him to live a full life. He's been gobbling this food up and he's seems to have more energy. The mobility part of the food is to help both of my fur-babies and I think it's helping.

    My cat loves this!

My Bobby isn't all that crazy about the Hill's K/ D wet food but he just loves the dry! He gets it for breakfast and for treats. This and Cosequin really help his arthritic joints.

My cat likes the dry better than the canned! I’ve had to add the dry to the canned to get him to eat it. Oh and warm it in the microwave after refrigeratation.
