Adjust feeding amounts as necessary to maintain optimal weight. If you are unsure, ask your veterinarian. For best results & safety practices: Gradually transition to your pet's new food over a 7 day period. Exclusively feed the recommended Prescription Diet dry food, canned food & treats. Keep fresh water available at all times. Have your veterinarian monitor your pet's condition. Cover and refrigerate unused portion of the can.

Transition Instructions

Begin the transition by mixing both the current food and their new cat food together. Gradually decrease the amount of the current cat food while increasing the amount of new cat food. Continue to do this over a 7-day period. Transitioning slowly can result in fewer digestive issues and better acceptance of the new cat food. Mix 25% of the new food in with 75% of the current food for the first 2 days, then mix 50% new food with 50% existing food for the next 2 days, then mix 75% new food with 25% current food for the next 2 days. By day seven, you can feed your cat 100% new food.

  • Beware mobility additive

    By on

My cat is 16 and has kidney disease. She loves food but won't touch this flavor. She likes the chicken stew so it has to be the mobility additive that she doesn't like. It is an expensive mistake to make considering how much a case of this food is, so beware.

My cats are trying to get use to a new food. I ordered Renal perscription approved by my Vet. Also ordered a Renal with mobility for Mr arthritic cat. They eat each others food so I have to cover both ends.

  • Great Product

I gave this catfood to my cat who is 13 years old and is having some mobility issues and has had kidney problems in the past. It has been approximately 1 1/2 weeks after giving one can of food a day plus his dry food (the k/d formula) and he is not limping like he was and he is moving faster, not fast but faster than he was. Chewy was very good about getting a hold of my vet to ensure that I could get this prescription formula cat food.

I haven't seen my cat this interested in her food in some time. The difference between this and their standard K/D pate is huge. There has also been an increase in her desire to play which is great!

  • too healthy for old cats

neither one of my kidney cats will eat this, unfortunately. If I sneak it into something they like, they know it is there and won't touch it. Sorry. BUt I will give it 2 stars since my vet recommended it.

K/d has come a long way since we had to use it before. It looks a lot more like regular cat food now and our senior kitty with kidney problems loves it.

  • Prescription food for my kittos

    By on

Both kitties have been on Hills CD, which they did not like but ate. Another spate of crystals necessitated changing food again--this food they love. It's spendy and I wish they'd put it into larger cans, but so far, so good.
