Adjust feeding amounts as necessary to maintain optimal weight. If you are unsure, ask your veterinarian. For best results & safety practices: Gradually transition to your pet's new food over a 7 day period. Exclusively feed the recommended Prescription Diet dry food, canned food & treats. Keep fresh water available at all times. Have your veterinarian monitor your pet's condition. Cover and refrigerate unused portion of the can.

Transition Instructions

Begin the transition by mixing both the current food and their new cat food together. Gradually decrease the amount of the current cat food while increasing the amount of new cat food. Continue to do this over a 7-day period. Transitioning slowly can result in fewer digestive issues and better acceptance of the new cat food. Mix 25% of the new food in with 75% of the current food for the first 2 days, then mix 50% new food with 50% existing food for the next 2 days, then mix 75% new food with 25% current food for the next 2 days. By day seven, you can feed your cat 100% new food.

  • Few options

I like the small can size but unfortunately my cat doesn't like the food. He seemed to enjoy the first can but no more after that. I have resorted to mixing it 1:1 with other soft food so he will eat it which, unfortunately, defeats the purpose of feeding him a total kidney clean diet. At least he's getting a half clean diet! Is there any way to make the food more palatable to a cat in need of healthy AND tasty food?

  • Our cat loves it!

    By on

Our 16 year old Sabby seemed to have lost his appetite and was only picking at his food. We were worried about his continuing to drop weight. The first time we opened the k/d Plus Mobility,, he gobbled it down and has done so with every subsequent feeding. One week after starting this new food, we discontinued his pain med (Gabapentin) and he is moving like he did several years ago! We are THRILLED!

  • Cat prefers this variety

    By on

My cat has been on kd diet for over a year. I started the mobility about a month ago. It’s over twice as expensive as the pate but my cat will refuse to eat the pate after a while. She seems to really like this and eats a lot more. They also make it in fish or tuna that I get at my vet. She likes that one a bit more. I wish you carried both varieties.

  • Re Hill's Formulas for Kidney Dysfunction

    By on

Vet said 14 yo cat's blood tests indicated the start of kidney dysfunction and recommended the Hill's prescriptive formulas for that. Also recommended weekly fluid infusions. I decided to try one at a time and assess. Cat loves the food: regular k/d, rotating the 4 types, pates and stews, chix and tuna. One day I accidentally picked up some of the k/d+mobility at my vet's little store. Cat does have some mobility problems, and the mobility formula did seem to make a bit of a difference, so now we mix some of that into the rotation. Have seen enough improvement in cat's activity level, etc. that I will continue with this diet regimen and hold off on the fluid infusions for the time being.

My cat likes taste, however, I have to smash it as he prefers pate, which they do not have in this formula, yet.

  • My cats love this food

This food is required for my 1-year-old cat and my older cat gets to have it also. It doesn't smell like so cat food can.

  • It's ok for what it is.

    By on

I have to feed this to my senior cat and she can't have much else because of her failing kidneys. This food is ok, but my cat seems to only like the sauce it's in. That's most likely a cat preference issue. I haven't seen an improvement in her mobility, but it's only been about two and a half weeks and she hasn't been eating a lot of it. I wish there was a fish version. I think she would prefer that. I recently have her a vet-approved treat of some BFF tuna and she wolfed it down without hesitation.

  • Good for my older cat

This is a prescription cat food which is helping my 14 year old cat stay mobile and relatively healthy. I appreciate that Chewy could check with my vet and supply this food without my having to drive to get it and carry it in.
