Cats simply are not crazy about it and the price is absolutely outrageous. For people on a budget, how do you want me to heal my cat by buying this food when it’s $75 for an 8 pound bag which will last maybe two weeks with four cats. This is insane and they barely touch it even though at least they eventually did when I mixed it with regular dry food. Unlike the wet K/D food, which they would not touch it all. Not happy way too expensive.

Hole in the bag

Would have been five stars if not for a large slice on the front of the bag which leaked out a little food into the box and may have been contaminated. No big deal

Would have been five stars if not for a large slice on the front of the bag which leaked out a little food into the box and may have been contaminated. No big deal though I just scooped out the area around the hole and gave it to the stray cats Who were fine with it. Otherwise a great dry food. Five stars .

This little gal (21 years old) only has 20% use of her kidneys. She’s eating and drinking as normal, likes the food and supplementing with canned to add water to her diet. She was dehydrated at last Vet visit, but now is doing well and has her appetite back and getting lots of liquids. I know this food is working for her, she’s more active and reminding me when it’s meal time. The dry food is always down for her and the canned kidney cat food is 4 times a day. We’re still enjoying this skinny little Senior girl.

Before switching to Hill’s prescription diet k/d care dry cat food my cat was excessively thirsty and using her litter box frequently. After a vet visit and lab work she was diagnosed with kidney disease. Once she was on the k/d diet her symptoms disappeared and she is eating and drinking normally. I also supplement her dry food with the k/d diet canned food.

K/D was a great product for our first cat with kidney issues. However, our kitty now hates it. I must have chosen the wrong flavor for him. He tried one small nugget and rejected it. I've tried mixing just a little in his "regular" food but he would rather starve than eat if the K/D is in the bowl. Breaks my heart since I know it would help him SO much.

My kitty was diagnosed six months ago with kidney disease and it’s been a journey of trial and error to find what he likes enough to eat routinely or beg for (extreme challenge). I knew I had to find a kibble because since I switched him to primarily wet diet, his dental health took a plunge, so the search was imminent. Lo and behold, Bosco is enjoying these kibbles and it makes me feel better that it’s a good balance for his KD care and keeping his teeth healthier longer. For his twice daily meals, I give him 60/40 wet food to kibbles, next to each other - not mixed - and he’s satiated and happy. That allows me to still give him another crunchy treat throughout the day. Fresh water daily too of course. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to find a crunchy option and manage KD in their kitty.
