The kibbles are very large but my kitty did like it ok. However, he did not lose any weight on this food even though I followed the feeding guidelines. I tried it for 1 small bag which lasted over a month. Would not recommend and would not purchase again. Moving on to a different brand.
This Hill’s Metabolic Diet and an automatic feeder I purchased from Chewy’s was the ticket for my cat’s weight-loss. The feeder served measured portions twice a day (it can feed up to 4x per day) and even though he was always hungry, I was no longer the giver of food and he stopped begging me! The feeder was great when I traveled, too. He’s 15 now and more active and much healthier than he was 5 years ago!
We have this food via our vet, our max has lost almost 4 lbs to get to his goal weight so this works!! only issue is it’s expensive!! Hopefully they can get some that’ll be a bit cheaper as we will have to switch due to costs.
my cats are a little over weight and the vet suggested this. I am surprised how much my cats love it and I also give it as a treat sometimes
So my cats have been on this for a few years. They initially lost some weight and then maintained where they were at. Unfortunately, the last few weeks, my one cat can't eat this anymore. Even if he eats a small amount, it makes him throw up. We only leave out dry food at night (because they like to eat around 2-3am) Will have to change our dry food.
My cat was 25 pounds before I had to put her on a diet. Her Vet recommended Hills Science and she’s lost over 3 pounds in the last five months.
My cat has to have the urinary diet but gains a lot of weight from it. We combine that with this Metabolic food to control his weight. We just started but he loves the food so that is a plus!
Vet gave me prescription for this. My cat won't go near the bowl. It smells God awful and he won't eat any of it. After trying for three days, I am done.
I’ve used this cat food for my boy who was overweight! Contrary to other reviews who says it didn’t work it does work! My cat lost 3 pounds in less than a month when using this according to my vet instructions! He’s got a least 5 more pounds to go an he is on his way to being more healthy!!
My cat was on this food for 3 years and never lost any weight. She did not like the food at all and pick's at it for most of that time. During the time that she was eating it we followed very strict vet orders on the diet and it just did not work. If anything she gained more weight on it and was lethargic. I recently switched her to a non-prescription weight loss food from science diet and that one has been incredible. She has an incredible amount of energy on the new food but this one did not make any difference for her. Would not recommend.
